Very nice boutique hotelPosted Jul 27, 2015
This hotel is very clean and comfortable. Rooms were spacious (for European standards) and very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was nice and offered a good variety of choices. We enjoyed the challenge of walking all those steps to the beach but for those who don't enjoy all the walking you might want to choose something closer to the beach. I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

Holiday in positano July 2015Posted Jul 17, 2015
Pros: We liked the staff, the position, the cleanliness and comfort of our room.
Location: The hotel is located near the top of positano, within walking distance of the main bus stop, taxis and numerous restaurants.
We had a very enjoyable stay at the hotel villa da gabrisa in positano. The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly and our room was cleaned daily to a very high standard. The view from our room was beautiful, a panorama of positano and the sea. Hotel food was of a very good standard and we ate twice in the evening, where we had a table overlooking the bay. Service was to on and the food was delicious. If we return to positano in the future, we will definitely be staying at this hotel again.

Great hotel, awesome view and staffPosted Jun 29, 2015
Pros: View, rate, staff and morning coffee overlooking the Mediterranean.
Cons: Better blow dryer for my wife.
Location: Relatively high up. The trade off of that is better view, longer walk down to city center.
Nice hotel to stay at for a few days. Family owned and operated, and they couldn't be more accommodating. The view is as good as any in Positano. Great (and some of the best) restaurants within walking distance (and the hotel's food is good and their road-side-with-view tables are an awesome place to start the day). If you do want to go down to the city center, it is an easy walk and you can either taxi it back up or take bus. Not a big deal at all for a couple or a family. It's not the Four Seasons by any stretch, but its a (more than) decent place to stay and watch the world go by.

Wonderful...Posted Jun 20, 2015
Beautiful location and wonderful hotel. All of the staff were so helpful, explained where everything was located in Positano and organised trips for us. There are so many excellent restaurants in the vicinity, including Villa Gabrisa itself. There are a lot of steps in Positano, prepare yourself for that because it would be a challenge if your fitness levels were poor! It certainly helps to work off all of the wonderful food and drink you will consume. We stayed in a new room (no.12) located next door but one to the hotel, it was a large room with a beautiful view from the terrace. There is a little shop two doors up where you can buy snacks and local wine at reasonable prices too. Would definitely recommend and would without doubt go back.

B&E's Italian GetawayPosted Jun 11, 2015
Pros: STAFF personnel--especially Carmela, Layla, & Isabella--were absolutely fantastic. Great location; great balcony views; even better overall VALUE!
Cons: Our stay could not have been better...and the people at Villa Gabrisa made all the difference. Dad, Mom, son, daughter, and son-in-law all work there
Location: Everything in nearby Amalfi, Ravella, Capri, & Sorrento are readily available. In our 60's but easy to walk anywhere in Positano from hotel.
Rented car throughout trip to Tuscany & Amalfi Coast. Hotel Villa Gabrisa, easy to find in Positano, with off-site/secured parking. Excellent, family-owned boutique hotel with very good breakfast buffet & bar. Excellent restaurant that must be very good because it was full every night; mostly with locals. We spent 3 nights at VIlla Gabrisa & knew most of the people there before we left. Very attentive, English-speaking staff that were helpful in everything we needed to do...from recommendations on Capri daytrips to helpful suggestions about shipping (even supplied scissors & tape)--grazie, Carmela-- to international phone calls when our room phone wasn't working properly--grazie mille, Layla. We never drove the rental car while we were there, but it was easy to get stuff out of it when needed. And the Positano metro bus stops right next to the Villa Gabrisa. If we ever go back to Positano, we'll be staying there again.

Room with a viewPosted May 18, 2015
Pros: The view from the balcony, clean rooms.
Villa Gabrisa was a beautiful experience for my boyfriend and I. The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk (or 3-5 minute bus ride) down a winding staircase/road to the main village/square. The bus stop is right outside of the hotel, but we never took it because we enjoyed the walk - the views were absolutely breathtaking and the road was lined with quaint shops and excellent restaurants. The hotel is located around the bend from the main area of Positano. The views were breathtaking, and most likely the best in the part of town taht we were staying in. many of hte other hotels nearby did not seem to have the same vantage point/balcony combo. Since we were traveling from afar to enjoy the Amalfi Coast, it was very important to us to have a room with a view. All the rooms in Villa Gabrisa come with a view. The hotel staff was very helpful and the included breakfast was sufficient. We did not eat at Da Gabrisa, but heard the food was very good. Since we were staying at Villa Gabrisa, we wanted to make sure to explore other parts of town - Da Vincenzo was right down the way and the food was excellent. Overall, the hotel was lovely and mid-range affordable. Would definitely recommend for travelers looking to splurge for a view but with a bit of a budget.
