You'll need a car as outside of townPosted Oct 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
When booking we had not noted the location and is a good 4km from maori. getting dropped off on the bus in maori, we then had to get. 10euro taxi back to the hotel. We went in October and soon found out how infrequent the buses were generally to get to and from the hotel (once an hour if lucky). The staff took pity on us and twice gave us lifts in to town which was very nice of them, however with no food options at hotel (and strict no food in room policy) meant we had to travel to eat etc. the hotel itself looked a bit unloved and dated, but otherwise clean.

Make sure you know what kind of balcony you're getting. We booked deluxe room with whirpool bath and balcony. The room didn't have a balcony, just juliet bars across patio doors. When we asked for a balcony, on which we could sit, we were shown the only room they had available with a full balcony but wasn't de-luxe and only had a shower, which we accepted, as we would rather have a balcony than a whirlpool bath. The shower was very small and not very clean. It had been leaking and, as the evening wore on, a damp smell, covered by a really strong chemical smell pervaded the room and made it impossible to sleep without opening the windows and letting in the mozzies. They had obviously tried to treat the damp with chemicals, which we hadn't noticed until we closed the balcony doors later. In the morning we asked to be moved and we were offered the suite, but would have had to move after 4 nights, so we opted for the first room, with the juliet bars. On a positive note - Vincenzo, the manager, was as helpful as he could be, the lady who cleaned and made breakfast was lovely and friendly. The guys who parked our car were at hand whenever we wanted, the restaurant "shuttle" service was excellent and the views magnificent. The location of the hotel made it difficult to walk around outside and driving or getting the bus was the only option if you wanted to visit Mairori, which was only about 1 Km away.

wonderful 3 nightsPosted Aug 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
this hotel was a delight. first of all, we arrived with a car (which can be tricky park in these little towns) and the hotel staff parked it for us and brought it to us when we needed it. the room was amazingly clean and comfortable. waking up to the view of the sea was beautiful. we really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast on the terrace each morning and the sweet lady who served us. as it was very hot during our stay, we really took advantage of the beautiful pool and the view of the sea. the staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating. would definitely stay here again and definitely recommend.

great views, good but needs improvingPosted Apr 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
great views, very clean rooms and the service was very good from the staff. the roof top pool with massive ocean views was empty so unable to use and that was quite a disappointment. we would not have booked if we had known that. WiFi was weak to the point of being unable to use for 3 nights and that was very inconvenient. hotel location is a bit tricky i would advise hiring a car or bike. 10 min walk downhill to maiori, the walk back wouldn't be good though we didn't do it. overall pretty good and you definitely need transport from this hotels location

Amazing views, lovely pool, excellent servicePosted Aug 9, 2012 on Hotels.com
The Hotel Villa Pandora is a fabulous place to stay. It is situated just outside Maiori which is a lovely family orientated tradtional holiday resort. Although very busy we never struggled to find a table in the local restaurants. Our favourite was called La Vela, right on the sea front. The surrounding area is stunning! The only downside is that you need a car, although the parking at the hotel is free, something that you dont find very often in Italy. There is a good bus service which runs into town directly outside the hotel but this obviously limits your comings and goings and the last bus back is 10.20pm.The breakfast is typically continental, with cereals and yoghurts and freshly baked pastries. The rooms are beautifully appointed. The parking system works very well, the staff will valet park your car for you, just up the road. You never need to wait long when going out and for the staff to get the car . Vincenzo the manager is very good, the staff will take you into to town in your own car if you are going on an excursion, this saves you paying 20 euros or so to park your car in the town for the day. Vincenzo will arrange trips which cost exactly the same as if you book them yourself on the seafront. Although there is no formal bar, you can get drinks, tea, coffee, beer and wine whenever you want and the prices are very reasonable. There is also a minibar which is not expensive. Overall a wonderful place to stay, very relaxing. Overall a wonderful experience.

Ok - But . . .Posted Jul 16, 2012
Pros: the pool and the view
Cons: the lack of restaurant and distance from town
Location: The hotel is on a busy road about one kilometer east of Maiori
The hotel is superb. However, Expedia misled me by telling me the hotel has a restaurant and 24 hr room service which it does not. The hotel has an outdoor breakfast terrace providing a very limited breakfast service.

Maiori's Best Kept SecretPosted Aug 30, 2011
Beautiful hotel with incredibly helpful and attentative staff. We were Wowed by our triple bedroom with a Jacuzzi in it. Vincenzo and Massimo were very 'hands on' and generally bent over backwards for you, nothing was any trouble to them. Stunning views from room top pool, every room had a balcony looking over directly onto the sea. It's about an hour from Naples, and you will need a car for exploring the local villages and towns. The hotel has parking. Stunning Breakfast Terrace 7am-10am - Breakfast is Italian style (Pastries & Coffee) although Juices, Cereal and Rolls are provided with Jams and Nutella! My 6yr old was the only child there last week (10 rooms- all couples except us) he had a brilliant time. We did a good balance of pool days and day trips out to Pompei and Vesuvius, Positano etc Incredibly all the other holiday makers at the hotel were Italians, local italians from neighbouring provinces and a couple from only Pompei ! (it must be good if the Italians go there!) One other English couple were really very impressed and have fallen in love with the area as we have...... at last somewhere that we love enough to be going back for a second round of excursions next year....I as soon as possible I will be booking for next August.
