“Beautiful hotel for a getaway”

Overall we loved our stay at Hotel Vittoria. We travelled start of June 2009 and had blue skies and sunshine everyday. It is not situated at the main part of Positano, but is only a quick 10 minute walk away, along a nice scenic path i must say. What I loved about this hotel was the convenience of the elevator which takes you down to Puepetto beach and the hotel restaurant (so, no climbing steps!). Buffet breakfast was brilliant, Staff were always knowledgeable about information/transport and the views are stunning.

“What a view”

Located just across a crevice from the main part of positano, we were treated to an amazing view of the hillside town from our spacious terrace. The other side of the terrace overlooked the beach located far below which was easily reached by the hotels lift. Reaching the hotel may be difficult for some. You must walk a meandering path with intermittent steps that can be challenging with luggage. It does add to the charm though. The high vaulted ceiling added character to an otherwise sparsely decorated, primarily white room. This was the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. The only short-coming was a parade of tiny ants on our bathroom counter that are apparently driven out of the walls by the heat. This was quickly remedied by hotel staff though. I highly recommend this hotel and will stay here again if I'm lucky enough to make it back to Positano.

“if you dont mind a walking...its great!”

This hotel is reasonable for Positano. Note that it is about a 5 min walk and 2 elevator ride to the beach, but beach is beautiful. It is about 10 min walk to town centre on a nice path but is kinda sketchy at night. Also, it is 70 steps down to hotel from parking (which is an extra 14E/night). Overall, a nice cheaper alternative with nice ocean views, but not right on the ocean.

“Great Staff”

This hotel was basic European. The staff was friendly and so accomdating. They get 5 stars. The hotel was a little difficult to get to but had amazing views. The room was very clean and had a great terrace with great views.

“Spectacular Views, Mediocre Room For the Price”

CONS - Old furnishings, ant problems, mediocre breakfast and hotel was hard to find. Chair rental on pebble beach ridiculously expensive. PROS - Staff was very nice, the ant problem was resolved once we raised it, A/C and a safe in the room - comfortable beds. The views from our room were spectacular

“A Solid Option”

The Vittoria is a solid three star hotel in Positano. It's a base in the town rather than being somewhere to spend hours. Compared to other hotels in the town it represents a more affordable option and the easy beach accesss is a certain plus, even though it is not on the main beach. Our room also had a large terrace, albeit overlooking the grassy hill. The hotel is around 15 minutes walk from the centre which for the price is fine. The rooms are big but fairly basic, with a small TV. The bathrooms are average, the there was nothing to hold the shower head to the wall. It looks like half the hotel was refurbished and half wasn't - we were in the half that wasn't. Another slight minus was that the breakfast started to run about by about 9:30am.
