A bit of luxury

Pros: Room was luxurious, 'in room' breakfast option, staff were very friendly - they even came into the room at night to turn down the sheets!
Cons: Outdoor jacuzzi on neighbouring balcony
Location: The L'Ancora is nicely situated however there is quite a steep climb from the centre of Positano. Its not a place for anyone with walking issues!
The L'Ancora is an unusual hotel in that the reception is at the top of the hotel and the rooms on 4 floors beneath. The room had a big bathroom with jacuzzi, lovely furnishings, conservatory area where you can sit and relax or eat breakfast; served in room if requested and big balcony. The sea view from the balcony was great but slightly blocked by the balcony of the neighbouring room which also had an outdoor jacuzzi, which was noisy and we found it annoying that we had a nice balcony but could be disrupted at any time of the day or night by this noise. The other thing to be aware of is that there are limited facilities at L'Ancora but it has a sister Hotel Covo dei Saraceni which is some distance away and has a pool and restaurant which you can use along with its other facilities whenever you wish.
