Villa Maria: A Great Hotel in RavelloPosted Apr 9, 2015 on Hotels
Villa Maria is a lovely hotel in the mid-price range for Ravello. Everyone who works there is pleasant, helpful, and speaks many languages. The food is excellent and the waiters will tell you how to make the dishes, down to the kind and quality of the rice to buy. The staff immediately learns your preferences and seamlessly provides you what you want at each meal. The rooms are well decorated. We stayed in a large room with an ocean view, but many have terraces that look out over the ocean. I highly recommend this hotel.

Delightful hotel in a quiet corner of a busy coastPosted Mar 31, 2015
Pros: Location. Friendly staff. Breakfast
Location: 30 mins to Pompeii. 10 mins to Amalfi. Ravello itself is a charming little oasis of a town on the hectic Amalfi Coast
A stunning location, set back from and looking down on the Amalfi Coast. Our room was well appointed with its own terrace. Staff were unfailingly helpful and friendly and the breakfast buffet, though low on hot options, was all I could have wanted. The only disappointment was dinner. A limited choice, cooking which lacked inspiration or finesse and grossly overpriced.

Weekend in RavelloPosted Mar 25, 2015 on Hotels
We were at this hotel in the off season so they may not have been fully ready to be open. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We can't comment on the restaurant since it's not open in the off season. Breakfast was served and was good. The issues we had...the shower never got hot and the toilet ran continuously. We told them about this but they weren't able to fix it. It would have been nice if they offered us another room. The location is nice in that it's by the Villa Cembrone gardens but other than a small peek, there's no view of the water.

quiet, beautiful views,Posted Nov 10, 2014
Location: the coast road is "hairy" to drive, but better than over the hills from the motorway - this road is also scary and winds through bad neighbourhoods
useful parking in Ravello, quiet, beautiful views, good food

Beautiful views, friendly staff, crazy parkingPosted Jul 2, 2014
Overall we were very satisfied with our stay at Villa Maria. Our room was quite spacious and had amazing views. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The included breakfast is adequate but at least, like everywhere else in Italy, the espresso is great. On the less positive side, the one dinner we are in the restaurant was nearly 3 times the price of the meals we ate in the town and we enjoyed the town restaurants more. Second minor negative is that the parking is insane. The local I asked for directions described it perfectly "when you turn the corner it looks impossible but it's not." As a North American I have a hard time adjusting to driving on what looks like a sidewalk. All things considered I would still enthusiastically recommend Villa Maria as a great base for exploring the Amalfi Coast.
