Hotel close to highway. Outdated decor.

Posted Jun 11, 2014
The hotel was close to the highway. You get what you pay. The decor and furniture was outdated, the hallways smelled, and there were very few outlets. None by the bed to plug phones in. There was no elevators to the second floor. The breakfast was continental, the waffles were made in the shape of texas, which was cute. The service was nice, friendly, and helpful. Overall, it was a cheap hotel and we only stayed there so our puppy could stay with us.

Comfortable stay. Starting to fray around the edges though.

GREAT!

Pros: Location, furnishings,staff, & breakfast!
Cons: The bed. It was a bit too soft and uncomfortable...it felt like the springs were old.
Location: Eat, shop.
Everything was great! Good breakfast, easy to find location next to the highway, comfortable room, friendly staff! I would stay here again!

One star better than motel 6

Posted May 22, 2014
Not a terrible stay but expected a little higher quality. Very similar to staying at motel 6 just more expensive. Everything is very basic. No closet space. Small bathroom. tv, dresser, desk and armoir are about a foot away from bed and pinned up in a row that extends from bathroom to a/c unit. Overall still a nice place but barely an upgrade from motel 6.

Good sleep over

Pros: There are plenty of places nearby to eat. The hotel was easily accessed from I-40. It's Exit #71.
Cons: An elevator would be helpful.
Location: Plenty of things nearby.
The room was clean and the beds were comfortable for this price range. There is NO elevator, so request early and ask for a first floor room is that is a problem for you. The ice machine downstairs did not work, so it required a trip up the stairs. I have back problems but managed ok. The desk clerk was very nice and answered questions we had. Hall noise could be heard but it wasn't as bad as where we stayed the night before. The bathrooms were nice. The towels were great and plenty of them (for a change). I would stay at this hotel again. There is a pool but we did not use it. It appeared to be clean - however it was adjacent to the parking lot and not very private. Best to stay on the East side of town as the smell of the cows on the west side can be overwhelming depending on which way the wind blows that day.

We've stayed at a few Baymonts and this one just wasnt up to scratch. My wife had to go ask for blankets for the bed as it only had a sheet on it and she was treated quite rudely and made to wait a very long time. Not impressed. Perhaps a change in staff might be an idea.

Just OK.

Pros: Good location, right off the freeway.
Cons: The rooms could be much cleaner. The bath was particularly untidy when we arrived.
Location: There's a very good Mom and Pop mexican restaurant just behind the hotel.
We had a good stay, however the room could have been cleaner.

Very nice and quiet.

Pros: Inside doors. We're positioned between two nice motels, but both had outside doors.
Great breakfast! Very nice room - large and comfortable.

Pros: see above
Cons: see above
Location: was not into things to do nearby, just wanted a place to sleep, and be on my way
room was very nice, for the price, staff was cordial, complimentary breakfast was just O K, have had better, may not choose baymont in Amarillo, but in other cities, yes. Will be more carefus next time and do my homework
