What a lovely place to stay in Ames Iowa

Posted Apr 9, 2015
Pros: It was nice having the microwave and small fridge in our room. There was an iron and ironing board and that helped.
Cons: Not enough chairs when the bus of girls were staying there for breakfast. Monday morning we were the only ones there when it was ready.
Location: We didn't see much. Had dinner at Texas roadhouse. Best service we have received in years and the steaks were great.
We were surprised when we walked into the lobby area. It was very clean and decorated nicely. Our room was just the same. We were there to visit our son at Iowa State for Easter. The bed was very comfy and the drapes kept the morning sun from coming in. The staff was very kind to us. Our room was always neat when we returned from our day. I don't know how she was able to do her magic. We (I) brought half of our house; but every afternoon, we came back to a nice clean room with everything still there that was ours. The blow dryer in our room didn't work but it was fixed right after we showed it to them. The wifi wasn't working for my laptop. There was a phone number with our key cards for computer tech support. He had it up and running in just a few minutes The breakfast was just right but the coffee was not to my liking. I didn't hear any of the patrons complain about the bad coffee. My husband hated the slamming of doors and kids running around the 2nd floor above us. The hotel was pretty full for the weekend. He liked the indoor pool and hottub. I would have loved it too but the heat and chlorine was too much for my asthma.
