Great location for visiting Iowa State University

Posted Dec 23, 2014
Pros: Its ideal for visiting students as it is very informal but comfortable and cosy.
Cons: A bit odd to have the sink in the bedroom and not in the bathroom but not a major problem.
Location: Central Ames, adjacent to the University.
Its a lovely small hotel with very friendly staff and owners.

Nice

Although I fell ill upon arrival, I spend my entire weekend with exception 3-4 hours at the football game. So I got to know my room very well. It was very comfortable and the breakfast service is outastanding. The only recommendation I would make is ask for the top floor if you are light sleeper, it's an old building and you can hear footsteps from above.

Easy Access to Iowa State University

Posted Nov 15, 2014
Pros: Proximity to Iowa State University.
Cons: none
Location: Easy access to Iowa State University.
My son and I came for a visit to Iowa State University. The location was great in residential neighborhood near to the campus. The pillow top mattress was very comfortable and I enjoyed the Jacuzzi! We loved the experience of staying in an old fraternity house. Breakfast was wonderful.

Something Different

Posted Nov 7, 2014
Pros: Location and nice staff
Cons: There were areas in the room that needed a good dusting.
Location: This place is near ISU campus. There are restaurants and bars within a couple of blocks. Jack Trice Stadium is 1 mile away.
Great location - near campus and a couple of blocks from restaurants and bars. Rooms are something you would find at grandma's house. They have remodeled the first floor and the basement. My television did not work but I actually never missed it. Bathrooms are up to date. Overall, I would stay there again.

An unforgetable stay for all the right reasons!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Iowa House while on a relaxing get-away and we couldn't have been happier with our choice! We stayed on a Monday night and the room we booked, the last one available, was amazing. The staff was very friendly and the chef was there to greet us Tuesday morning and take our order for brunch, scrambled eggs and bacon wrapped in a pancake, which was to die for! We will definitely be staying here again and I highly recommend the Iowa House for anyone traveling to Ames.
