“We'll be back!”

Our room didn't have air conditioning so it did get a bit stuffy with the windows closed although when they were open there was plenty of ventilation but a bit of street noise with occasional pasing trams. This is a great hotel and we would go back. Its well placed centrally, very close to the Flower Market and great for a short break.

We have stayed here a few times which reflects our satisfaction with the hotel and the staff. However this time we did notice the outside noise levels from a new bar on the corner didn't subside until the early hours, so we didn't get a good nights sleep, which is essential on holiday.

I did a lot of research on price, customer reviews and location before picking this hotel. I would definitely stay here again and I think it was a great value - clean, large (especially by European standards) and located close to everything fun.

“Fantastic stay”

I would thoroughly recommend this hotel as value for money. The room was basic (take your own kettle) but clean and comfortable, no issues with the bathroom as previously mentioned by other reporters. Just a note for smokers out there, this hotel does have a floor with smoking rooms so it may be worth requesting one if you so wish. We always found the reception staff welcoming and very helpful when approached. The location was perfect, right by the floating flower market and Rembrandt plein (lots of restaurants and bars here) and only a short walk into Dam central and all the main attractions. We would definately stay here again.

Fantastic service and room. Right next to Rembrandtplein. We were all impressed at how nice everything was in the lobby and in the room. We got in right at two and our room wasn't quite ready so the frot desk gave us all a free drink at the gorgeous bar.

Albus grand hotel is situated in the middle of the old center of Amsterdam, we could reach all things (like shopping area, restaurants, museums...) very easily by walking. The service was really welcoming and friendly. We were lucky to get a room with windows facing the backyard. The room is friendly decorated and clean, only some corners were a bit dusty and the bathroom could have been better, because the shower is fixed on the wall, quite much on top, so small people get less whater on the head. We had booked "economy-best rate", if you choose a better rate the bathrooms are supposed to be better equipped. All in all I can still highly recommend the hotel and thank the hotel staff for this great stay.

“Lovely hotel”

Visited Albus Grande hotel in late Jan 2008. A bit aprehensive due to reading some negative reviews. The hotel was pleasant & clean, staff were very friendly & helpful.[ staff allowed us to check in early & and stored our cases for us on our last day] The maid cleaned every day. The bath was large and deep, that was the really nice thing about the room. The carpet was a bit marked, but apart from that it was a nice room.
