Good hotel close to the centre and easy to find!Posted Aug 27, 2014
I stayed for 4 nights at The Albums, and got upgraded to a nice room on the top floor with views over the city. The weather was awful, so lack of air conditioning was not a problem. I am used to traffic noise, so the city sounds didn't bother me. The Senses restaurant is excellent - I had the 3 course surprise menu and it was fabulous. The hotel is on a main road with trams from Centraal, and has a nice big sign! I enjoyed exploring Amsterdam and was easily able to get back to the Albus.

Pros: The staff
Location: Near to the flower market, walking distance to restaurants and stores and short tram ride to Heineken museum, red light district and central station.
The hotel had an excellent location near to downtown Amsterdam, great transportation access, good area, a lot of good restaurants and shops. The staff was extremely attentive and professional and the facilities were very nice, I would definitely will stay here when I go to Amsterdam.

Unbelievably Hot and LoudPosted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: Good location for sightseeing, mostly polite staff, free wifi, clean room, ear plugs provided. Cons: No Air Condtioning in the rooms, (unbearable temperatures in some rooms) windows open up to a very loud busy street, check cleanliness of towels and bathrobes. No in room fridges. Can not stress enough how hot it was in the room. Without the benefit of a thermometer my conservative guess would be way over 30 celsius, at night. Unbelievable that they would place anyone in such a unbearably hot room. Room 601 should shutdown on during hot summers.

great stayPosted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: comfort of the hotel, friendly staff
Cons: lack of air conditioning/no mini bar/fridge
Location: flower market, rembrantplein
On arrival were greeted with a friendly receptionist who showed us the complimentary coffee bar, she then came over and went through everything. Hotel reception was very stylish and clean. Then we were taken to our room and the facilities in the room explained to us (this created an excellent first impression). Our room was an upgrade to a bigger room and was a good size at the front of the hotel on the 4th floor. The room was well designed and clean. The bathroom was a bit of a let down as it wasn't very large and no bath (slightly dated). Toiletries were gorgeous. Nespresso coffee machine in the room was a fantastic surprise. Plenty of plug points. Extremely comfy beds and the pillows were amazing. Reception staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for us. Only used the bar which had a good variety of drinks and again very friendly staff. Reception even phoned one day to check about housekeeping as we had left our do no disturb on the door and they checked if we wanted anything (much appreciated). On check out reception organised a taxi for us back to the airport at a fixed price a fantastic service, we were able to pay the hotel and they gave us a voucher for the taxi. Hotel provided free sunglasses due to the warm weather. Best hotel for service and have been to many hotels in Amsterdam. Only downside was the heat - would have been wonderful to have air conditioning in the room and a mini bar would have been ideal.

The weather was hot and the entire hotel wasn't Air conditioned!! It felt like we're literarly sleeping in an oven. Traffic was also too noisy infront on the hotel. Staff were trying there best, but I would never go back there & surely will not recommend to anyone heading to that direction.

Hotel with no AirconditioningPosted Jul 24, 2014
Well! The hotel had no aircondition - even though the rooms seemed ultra modern! They were too hot and you can not open the windows coz a tram passes by.

Pros: Nice to be in a smallish hotel that has a personal feel.
Cons: Kind of tough for a week's stay not to have a single drawer to store anything in. More importantly, I didn't realize there was no air conditioning.
Nice hotel and exceedingly good and helpful staff.

Good hotel close to city centerPosted Jul 10, 2014
Pros: Staff was super helpful, and like everyone in Amsterdam spoke perfect English. Hotel was spotless.
Cons: As stated above, primary issue was noise from street location. Other than that there was nothing worth
Location: Central location in Amsterdam close to museums, RL District, Rembrandtplein, etc. Good variety of cafés and restaurants nearby.
Hotel was as advertised, clean and modern with an extremely helpful staff. Only problem with it is location, since our room was right on the Main Street it was very noisy, making it hard to sleep at night. Since there was no A/C, this led to an unhelpful noise/ temperature trade off. Great access to the tram system and a block from the flowermart.
