“One Small Problem”
I booked and paid for a double room 3 months in advance and when I checked in they only had a room with a king size bed. Other than that the trip was flawless.
“Geat location”
Hotel Marriot Amsterdam_ Just walk outside the hotel and immediately feel the warmth of the city, the happiness of young people, the flowers, and the excitement. Too bad the hotel beds were too soft that one does not feel rested in the morning. The Gym was great and the hotel restaurant had a great selection of food for breakfast. Toiletries, on the other hand, should be more accessible, I had to ask several times for different items, a towel, a conditioner, etc. the last day they placed a mouth wash; could that have been done daily or at least every other day? The first night, we forgot to leave tip, so we did not get shampoo (I did not know these things were so much related). The room was very well cleaned and organized. The charges were very clear and exactly as they advertised it. The internet on the other hand was extremely expensive and the computer service was poor. The hotel people were very helpful, attentive, and willing to give you information (not to pull your luggage). Their willingness to help with information, to get tickets for tours, to call for taxi services etc. compensates for those little toiletries details. I would recommend The Marriot Amsterdam.
“Excellent Location”
Excellent Hotel. Food and beverages are pricey. Plenty cheap and good food and beverage options nearby.
“Chritical Traveler”
The rooms are small but well designed and comfortable. They are somewhat frayed at the edges. The bigest problem was inadequate heat as the winter started early in Europe. Poor windows, not insulated. After complaint an excellent space heater was provided but the hotel's public spaces had no heat at all, had to sit in the lobby and restaurant wearing a coat. The restaurant is quite good, had excellent stakes.
“Outstanding Hotel in Outstanding Location”
Within short walking distance of the two great museums, Rikjsmuseume and Van Gogh Museum; also short walk to a river cruise station. Japanese Sumo Restaurant and nearby Indosesian restaurants were supurb. Every one around town spoke English very well and so that was a big plus. Expensive city, but there are moderate priced places to go and eat.
“Pleasant Stay”
When I complained about a smokey smell in the room, they sent a bellboy up with a key to a new room. The hotel sits in a convenient location to get to the museums and into the city center.
“Can't wait to go back”
Very good and pleasant stay
“Amsterdam Marriot”
We were lucky to stay at hotel during soccer world cup final. Were impressed by hotel's readiness to step up security and attention to details for this time.
“Very Goog Hotel everything is perfect easy location”
very good
“Upgraded to Executive Room”
We were upgraded to an Executive Room on the 7th floor. We had a big room with a beautiful view of the Leidseplein .
