Very short walk to bus. Took no. 38 and from the station no. 52 train to Central Very quiet and beds were comfortable Only 1 tiny pillow, however on request received another.

My train was cancelled so I spent the day there chilling and organising the next part of my travels. Angel was awesome!! She spent ages talking with me, made the wait go fast! She also let me use the dryer for my washing! The young guy who does the late shift was awesome too, sorry can’t remember his name!

Much more economical that staying in the middle of Amsterdam night life. Just a short bus ride and subway ride from central station. We got all the experience and half the cost. I mean seriously. You are there to tour, not pay for a room.

Overpriced, rundown hotel
Old rundown, dirty hotel. Far away from subway station. Pictures are not correct. If at all 1 star. No computer work station. Tv doesn’t work. No A/C . Front desk employee very rude and not helpful.

Location is close to a bus station, however it's personally not at a beautiful location. Hotel looks a bit old, but got a charm to it. Rooms are clean and quiet. AC works fine. Staff is courteous

It was a very disappointing stay at Bastion Noord Amsterdam, I have stayed in other Bastion properties before and this one is the worst I have stayed in. Cleanliness is very bad, corridors were dirty and with a smell of tobacco (staff was smoking outside at the end of the corridor with the door open). During my whole stay, they didn't clean the corridors for 4 days (the same dirt was lying there for 4 days) and they did not clean my room either, neither make up my bed during my whole stay, I also found some hairs in the bathroom. Breakfast was terrible, when food was finished on the buffet they simply do not replace it, so you pay 15 EUR per person for breakfast but if the guests before you finish the cheese, eggs, bacon, fruit or bread you won't be not able to get it anymore. I came in to breakfast on a Saturday at 09AM (breakfast until 10.30AM) and the eggs and cheese were finished. Also, on weekdays breakfast is until 9AM which I found very early. Location is convenient, public transportation to the city takes only 15 min. and there are some restaurants around.

A very old building, to be expected, but many people smoking dope in their rooms on all floors. I am sure against the law but in a very old building extremely dangerous for a fire.

A good balance of cost & location
Chose the hotel mainly due to cost and location not too far from Amsterdam. Although in Amsterdam Noord it is a really easy journey - about 8-10 minutes walk to metro and a 5 minute metro ride to Central station. Rooms were comfortable although fridge was offered but switched off and full of smelly water and no racks. A free drink was offered which was nice to have and fresh bottles of water each day. Overall happy with the hotel and its location.

The room in my floor was dirty and sticky from the person before. The corridors smelled of old lockers. The terrace outside the restraunt was dirty and full of rubbish and old cigarettes--it was like this during my whole stay and was not a one time thing.

A very quiet place. A litte Outside the city. Not easy to found as the entrance its behind other buldings. But theres free parking , you need to take a bus from metro station to get there. Staff very friendly and and helpfull, all speak english. Cleaning had some issues as towels arent replenished and overal cleaning was a bit careless. Stayed for 3 days in September 2019.

Easy access
The hotel is right next to a bus station that takes you directly to the metro station, which is very helpful getting around the city. I would recommend this hotel for any first timers, it's affordable and convenient.

Parking should have been free for hotel guests. We stayed in Bastion in Haarlem last year, free parking and free breakfast. The personnel in the Amsterdam one very friendly and helpful. Room a bit small and Canadian and American hotels have 2 queen size beds , we had 2 single beds.

Decent location not far from downtown. Metro station a 10 min walk away. Very quiet and calm. Staff are busy and not really interested in making themselves available to help guests. The cleaning staff didn’t clean the room on one day. Another they just folded the wet towels and didn’t replace them.

Room was nice housekeeping staff were nice some of the reception/bar staff were nice but the manager was very sharp and cold also one night a member of staff refused to give us coffees sugars and milk for our room said she was too busy! Breakfast is way overpriced so didnt have breakfast.

Great location and friendly helpful staff.
Brilliant location, very quick and easy to get into central Amsterdam. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Hotel room was very comfortable and clean. The ONLY thing I could maybe find fault with is the cost of the breakfast. €14.25 a day is a bit steep in my opinion. However, the eggs were freshly cooked and not sitting around for ages. Overall extremely happy 😊

Nice location, not far to drive to the centre
Rooms deceiving to photos, was not provided with room service had the same bed sheets and coffee/ milk for three days and beds were very uncomfortable.

This hotel is advertised as free breakfast. So we booked it through Orbitz. Now they say that there's only free breakfast if we book through them. That's false advertisement. If something is free than its free, no matter through who you book. They wanted 14 euro pp for breakfast, which of course, we refused. Room to get in shower is very narrow, and same goes for toilet between shower and wall. The tiny sink makes you wet the floor, because its so narrow you can hardly use it. Hotel looks nice inside but overpriced if its without breakfast.

Convenient location for getting into Amsterdam with the bus stop only 100 yards from the hotel. The bus cost only 6 euro for 2 adults return journey to Amsterdam central station and back.
