“Average hotel”
Average at best. > Run down and uninteresting location > Nondescript exterior and lobby > Internet was down for 6 hours > No minibar > No fitness centre options - even as a tie-up with nearby facilities Good points > Nice sized, comfortable and clean rooms > Good Thai / Chinese restaurant - nice interior, good food > Coffee / team machine (I always like this!)
“Stay away”
This is the filthiest hotel we ever saw; bathroom floor was full of cracks, shower wall tiles were missing, and it took four calls and two hours for towel delivery. Furnishings were dusty with missing draws and knobs, and an old TV that did not work. Hotel is located in a run down area; unsafe after dark. We are disappointed with Expedia for listing this hotel.
“OK Hotel”
The location of the hotel is convenient becuase of a Tram is available just behind the hotel and two grocery stores right behind as well. However, it is quite a dull location from a tourist's point of view. The room was a bit dark, with the telephone hanging a bit skewed on the wall, with the TV cable connection, power connection and the telephone wire hanging loose. The room was not really the approriate size and we felt a little squeezed. The other hotels we stayed in Holland offered much better rooms. Breakfast was average. The service was very good and the reception was very helpful about guiding with directions. If you do not have a car, then it is expensive to get there from the airport - the taxi cost us 47 Euro. If you do have a car, it is very expensive to park.
“I am satisfied. Good!”
The 4 px room was confortable and clean. Boss en Lomer is 10 min taxi ride from Damrak, the main touristic area en Old Amsterdam. We arrived on july 5th and again on july 18th. Never thought change hotel.
“It was OK”
I mainly didn't like the lack of knowledge of the expedia agent I spoke with and the amount of time it took to book the trip
“Not Impressed”
Staff was rude, not helpful at all. Couldn't find us a power cord converter to the laptop we brought. Bathroom glass cover was broken and every time we took a shower we "had" to flood the whole floor, not very convenient. We stayed at the 9th floor, where you are not able to open windows - which made me a little bit claustrophobic. Coffee was horrible and in both 3rd and 4th nights the maid never fill it up, same with sugar. All in all, quite old, small room, no window to open and to top all those with a candy, the AC was broken and the room (in my taste) was terribly hot (don't forget.. you can't open a window to freshen it up). Would not recommend, not worth a penny.
“Can't wait to go back”
All in all it was a very good trip. I will go back next year for a longer period.
“minor details but over all good place to stay”
there english was good but allot of issues surounding the hotel. but conviniance was off the chart. they have almost everything with in walking distance and the shuttle to downtown very easy. the personell was very very nice and accomidating. even though we got stuck with twin beds the room was very nice. but watxch the showers there idea of size is way off from ours its small.
“Worth the tram ride!”
We were very happy with the Blue Tower. While some might like to stay closer to the city center, we were happy to have our quiet hotel location. The public transportation was very close and easy to figure out. There is a great coffee and bagel shop around the corner. This was a much better option than the overpriced mediocre breakfast that the hotel served. The staff was friendly, the rooms were very nice and hotel itself felt very modern. We would all stay there again. This is not the hotel to stay at if you are looking to be close to nightlife, but with all of Amsterdam a 15 minute busride away...this is the place to stay for a great price, a clean room, a comfortable bed and a quiet coffeeshop to plan your next crazy fun day in Amsterdam. I would definitely stay here agian!
“Not Recommended”
The price is reasonable but overall would not recommend. Too far from city center; the rooms are not cleaned very well and the size of the rooms are cramped. The front desk customer service is poor.
