Good location

Posted Sep 13, 2014
Pros: Not too expensive, good location, helpful staff
Cons: Slightly noisy (some noise from inside the hotel some outside).
Location: Walking distance to most sites in central Amsterdam. Tram stop at the end of the street to get most other places.
This hotel is in a good location to get to the sights of Amsterdam (including lots of the tram lines). We didn't have the breakfast because it was relatively expensive but staff pointed us to a nice bagel shop down the street.

Nice Large B & B Type Hotel

Posted Sep 9, 2014
Pros: It was quaint with very interesting tile murals in the entrance way. The building is old but well maintained. We really enjoyed the nice breakfast.
Cons: Ceiling fans to circulate the warm air because the windows cannot be opened for safety reasons and rain, which poured the night we were there.
Location: The hotel is about 5 blocks from a lovely park and the Van Gogh Museum is just two blocks away and it is close to a canal boat dock.
The staff was friendly and helpful when we arrived after along flight from Reno, NV, tired and hungry.

A short break in a great location and hotel

Posted Sep 9, 2014
Pros: Staff, facilities and a small very attentive hotel
Location: Plenty to do, but walking is a must and perhaps the City Tour to find ones bearings.
A lovely well kept hotel which was excellant value for money. Very helpful staff who were always anxious to please.Location very close to the main attractions and museums. We had a fabulous time and made to feel very comfortable. We had booked a number of trips in advance through Expedia, but with a few problems. The round trip private airport transfer resulted in lack of communication as neither driver nor car was available to take us to the hotel. Taxi staff were not helpful and instaead we had to catch a bus!! Return trip by private car OK. We also booked an eveining dinner criuse but when we arrived for the event we were not booked in, but after some careful talk and the fact that the Blue Boat Co were not fully booked we were alloede to board. In spite of the above we enjoyed the break and would certainly return to the Bilderberg Hotel. A great city to visit !

Friendly, Clean, and Excellent Location

Posted Aug 31, 2014
Very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly staff. Our room was clean and our bed was very comfortable. The location is perfect for visiting museums, boarding trams, getting the bus back to the airport, and there are a few excellent restaurants within a short walk. We would stay again!

Lovely Hotel

Posted Aug 28, 2014
Pros: We enjoyed the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of the hotel, together with the location as it was convenient for all the attractions.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Within the main museum / designer shop area & right by the art/antiques' district. Bus/tram/canal trip stops are all just around the corner.
We travelled as a family of 3 for a 4 day break, the bus from the airport stops just round the corner from the Hotel which was convenient as we didn't have too far to walk with luggage. Despite arriving early our room was ready for us. The hotel is in an ideal location, within walking distance of all the attractions or by tram/bus ride which can be picked up from the end of the road. The reception staff were very helpful, always willing to help and very informative. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean, everything was replenished daily, despite having a third bed in the room there was still plenty of space. There was a varied choice for breakfast and the staff in the breakfast room were attentive and helpful. We hope to return to Amsterdam again and will definitely be booking the Bilderberg Hotel Jan Luyken when we do.

Good hotel in great location

Posted Aug 23, 2014
Pros: Nice standard room comfortable beds & pillows. In a pleasant street, cafes nearby for breakfast etc. Reception staff are friendly and helpful (buy you
Cons: Hotel breakfast expensive
Location: In a quiet street but near Rijksmuseum, Stedelijk and Van Gogh. Also near to Vondelpark, canal bus, trams and buses including airport bus 197.
Enjoyed Amsterdam very much easy to get around we walked most of time just used canal bus and hired a bike. Recommend Museum Willet-Holthuysen on Herengracht beautiful 17th century house. If you want to see Anne Frank's house before you go as long queues. Nice cafes and restaurants just lovely place to be.

Stay in a comfortable part of Amsterdam

Posted Aug 21, 2014
Pros: The staff are fantastic. The room is very clean.
Cons: Internet service was unreliable and should be included in the cost of the stay.
Location: Museums, cafes, shopping... Everything Amsterdam has to offer because of the close proximity to the intercity train.
Amsterdam can be quite busy and full of tourists. It's great to stay further outside of the area and closer to the Rijks museum. This hotel offers small clean rooms with everything you need. Within minutes you can catch the intercity train to go anywhere in Amsterdam. The neighborhood is quieter for good sleeping conditions but close enough to have great options for food and entertainment.

A central hotel with good facilities

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: Position, cleanliness and staff.
Cons: Breakfast rate.
Location: It is near the trams, the lovely green spaces, thr Rijksmuseum, which was wonderful, and also the Van Gogh museum.
I was very pleased with the hotel in general. The staff were friendly and helpful. My single room was small but the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was modern and clean and it had everything that I needed. The position of the hotel, in the museum district, was ideal although there was a lot of noise outside the hotel from passers by on Friday and Saturday nights. The guests in the neighbouring room were also noisy after 7.00am. I did not eat breakfast in the hotel as I thought that it was rather expensive. Apart from these issues I liked it and I would certainly stay again.
