Nice place, good location

Posted Aug 14, 2014
Exceptionally friendly staff. Easy walking to all major attractions. There are a few staircases to negotiate with luggage which some might find challenging. Rooms are spacious, clean. Bathrooms are new

Nice hotel but not a very nice outlook from room

Posted Aug 12, 2014
Pros: Decor, facilities and staff
Cons: Layout - Fire escape a bit dodgy I felt - too many small sets of stairs, corners etc.
Location: Good
Our experience was excellent for our needs. We used the accommodation as a place to sleep in - the rest of the time we were out in the town so no other comment to make.

Great hotel very central

Posted Aug 2, 2014
Pros: Central, friendly liked everything. We had a triple room, large and very comfortable and the cost was reasonable.
Cons: Couldn't find fault in anything.
Location: Very central to bars, restaurants, museums, probably the best area to stay to appreciate Amsterdam.
We only stayed here one night but found the staff very helpful and the hotel was lovely within walking distance of everything. Just opposite a canal but round the corner are the shops. Trams run by the hotel and are easy to use. Would definitely stay here again.

Genuine Amsterdam atmosphere

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff, good wifi and spectacular views over the city.
Cons: We gave the breakfast a miss as the hotel were unable to provide any gluten free items.
Location: The hotel is located next to a wide variety of restaurants, bars including excellent Indonesian and Dutch cuisine
The hotel is centrally situated near to the Leidseplein, and close to a wide variety of cafes, bars and restaurants. We enjoyed spending time in the nearby square, watching the world go by as we tried the local beers. The weather was extremely hot and we were pleased to get back to the airconditioned room. The staff provided excellent information about travel in Amsterdam and looked after some of our friends when we our flight was delayed. A good experience and we would be happy to revisit the hotel.

A really good choice of location

Posted May 22, 2014
Pros: excellent position
Cons: cheaper breakfast at the hotel as we didn't want a full buffet.
Location: location great
A great trip to Amsterdam, the hotel was really nice and in a excellent position to walk to lots of places, also good to get the tram from just outside. We had a enjoyable time.

May bank Holiday

Posted May 7, 2014
Hotel is very central. Close to everything. Room is large and clean. Only drawback is noise. Being close to an area full of bars and on a bank holiday with nice weather there were revellers until 6am both on Friday and Saturday nights. I guess if you have a room overlooking the canal it would be less noisy. The tram noise is not bothersome.

close but too close

On a lovely canal and close to museums but too close to tram and leindenplein for the noise.city was great but crowded as always. This hotel really is in a great location and view from window was great of canal but then there was the noise at night-it was the weekend. One day the hotel smelled like herring-perhaps a result of the kitchen but very stron.Staff was very helpful in getting us on internet.

Front desk was unbelievably unhelpful. Also, the surrounding streets are VERY loud at night. Rooms were ok, and the location was very central for sight seeing during the day. Definitely overpriced.
