“GREAT HOTEL WITH ALL THE EXTRAS”

I found the grand amrath one of the best hotels in amsterdam and 1 of the better 5 stars than the rest. pure comfort, complimentary mini bar. would stay again for sure.

“Modern hotel room tucked inside a historic site”

This a beautiful hotel with so much history. Coming from the train station it seemed far, but was actually quite close to everything we wanted to visit. The room itself was impressive... big comfy bed, huge bathroom, mini bar free (!). The building itself is so impressive - we felt like we were staying in a museam. The streets just north of the hotel had some great restaurants - and the new modern library on the other side of the harbour was quite an amazing find... great for photos and a nice little restaurant.

Best location in Amsterdam. Near trains and all the action. Hotel was stunning. Will stay again.

“Excelent Hotel”

Excelent Five star Hotel with a very friendly staff, in a centric location and a very reasonable price. The only detail to take into account is that the rooms do not have Air Conditioning. They have Climate Control which is bassically a system that drops some grades the temperature. In Summer time it could be warmer.

Excellent hotel in all respects and great location. Our room was a little cramped but the other features far outweighed this .. especially the fee mini-bar!

“perfect short break”

wonderful hotel and staff extremely helpful. The location was perfect as only a short walk to the centre and the attractions. The room was lovely and a very sumptious bed but felt warm at night even with the cool air system on. The mini bar was included in the room rate and if anything was used it was immediately replaced next morning. If I return to Amsterdam I would certainly stay at this hotel

“Excellent hotel, bit away from the action”

The Grand Hotel Amrath is in what was the Shipping Companies old HQ. So the decor is grand, built to impress. But where it needs to be modern it is, the rooms are spacious, with excellent beds and bathrooms. The only, slight, quibble was the closet/wardrobe space, which was somewhat limited with two of us staying in the room. The staff couldn't be friendlier or more helpful. It's only a 10 minute walk to the Central Train Station, however, it's away from the Damrak to the east/southeast. So you need to either walk into the action, or walk to Central Station to get a tram. The area is nicely quiet though.

“Quite Pleased”

We found the room to be quite spacious for Amsterdam. The staff was polite, friendly, and helpful. I was even able to get some breakfast before the official opening time on Sunday so that I could make it to my conference on time. The wellness area with the changing rooms/showers, fitness area, pool, spa, and sauna were pleasant. This hotel was conviently near Central Station and the central part of town without being in a noisy area.

“Highly recommended hotel”

We stayed in this hotel 30 May 2008. The place is fantastic. All the staff were very friendly and keen to show you round this unique building. Our room was huge, clean and a bonus that the well stocked mini-bar was included.It is located centrally and was easy to get around and see the sights.
