“Nice place for family”
A good hotel in a comfortable and convenient location. It is easy to get to Amsterdam - next to the hotel bus stop 107, which travels to Central Station. Good service and friendly staff. Excellent choice - a combination of comfort and tranquility for families near the capital.
“Out-dated”
Located on a wonderful golf course, this hotels is a little bit out-dated. Crashed windows are not replaced, the floor carpet has seen better times and the heating system doesn't invite for a winter stay. If you are unlucky you'll get a room at the end of that building which takes you at least 10 minutes to go there.
“relax with a joplier”
This is an excellent place to relax after a long day site-seeing.We were a 5 minute drive to McDonalds, where we had breakfast in the morning.Bus 107 picks you up only a block from the hotel for a 15 minute ride to Central Station in Amsterdam.One day the driver waved us in without taking any money.Hotel restaurant has a limited menu but everything we tried was very good.The staff very helpful and spoke excellent English .
“Great hotel, service could improve”
The hotel was great. Our only complaint is the service when we checked in and out. The hotel isn't in the center of Amsterdam, but if you have a car it isn't a bad option at all. The room was nice and we had a great view of the golf course. Everyone is right about the shape of the hotel. We were lucky to get a room near the front desk. If your room isn't near the front desk you're going to have to walk a bit.
“Would love to visit again in the spring or summer so we could enjoy the golf course!”
Great experience. Hotel was about 15 miles outside of Amsterdam, which we loved. Didn't have to worry about parking! Bus stop into Amsterdam was a 5 minute walk. The staff were all so nice and made you feel welcome, and all spoke English. We had a quadruple room which was nice sized and everything was clean. It is an older hotel but very clean. The restaurant was nice and the food was good. Breakfast was a bit pricey but my omelette was fantastic.
“Good condition, bad location”
We were very satisfied with everytihng related to the otel except it's location. If you don't have a car, you have to walk about 10 minutes to the nearest bus stop. It takes about 20-30 minutes to the city center by bus. If your plan is to hang out in the city center you may look for a better location. But Hampshire Golfhotel Waterland would be a very good choice for people looking for a quiet and peaceful place to rest.
“Nice hotel away from the city”
The Hampshire Golfhotel in Purmerend is a nice alternative to staying in Amsterdam. The price was reasonable and the staff was nice and helpful. We decided not to take our car into Amsterdam, but opted to take the bus which was only about 2 blocks away from the hotel. The fare was very reasonable for round trip and the bus service ran all night. Parking is free and the area around the hotel was also very nice. It is also close to Volendam which was only about a 10 minute drive from the hotel. We would definitely book this hotel again.
