Disappointing hotel decor and cleanliness

Pros: Good location for the center of Amsterdam and 3 minutes walk from a tram stop.
Cons: Decor, lighting, air conditioning, cleanliness, staff engagement with guests.
Location: There are many bars and restaurants in the square and it is 10 minutes walk to other places of interests and canal boat stations.
In the corridor leading to the room, the lighting is poor and stale air was trapped there as no air con was switched on. Inside the room there was coffee stains up the wall and a number of stains on the carpet. Inside the bathroom there is mold growing up the sealant of the bath. For a less than average breakfast the charge was €18.5 per person. A much better breakfast was bought in a coffee shop 3 doors down the road for €8. To the side of the main reception, there is a telephone around which paint is peeling of the wall. This was supposed to be a 4 star hotel and it was more like a 2.5 star version.

no double bed

Pros: The back rooms were quiet and the location convenient
Cons: Get beds more suited to married couples.
Location: very convenient for all things to typically do in amsterdam.
I reserved a queen size bed and was promised a double. I got two singles pushed together with a gap in between. Other wise the room was adequate.

Amsterdam Hotel experience

This is a nice hotel in a central area. It was clean, good Wi-Fi, and there was a nice machine in the hallway. Americans love ice and it was a real treat to be able to fill a nice bucket.

No frills hotel right on the canal

Pros: Very clean room and bathroom. No frills and great price
Cons: Breakfast should be included with room
Location: Shopping, cafés, canal cruises, museums, a great location for so much
Nice hotel with a discounted parking garage right across the street. 2 entrances for the hotel since it's on the corner was helpful. Bought skip the line tickets at hotel and given suggestions on tours. Love Amsterdam and the shopping. Huge shopping district a few minute walk and boat cruise down the street. Great value and clean and comfortable room.

Lovely Hotel in a Great location.

Pros: Everything..
Location: Great location, Rembrant Square had nice restaurants, bars, shops, park area and great architecture. But also centrally located for other areas.
Our first impression when entering the hotel was a woman thanking hotel staff and letting them know that she was extremely impressed with this hotel. I've got to agree!! The room was great, the beds were so comfortable, the room was spotlessly clean. It was also very peaceful, even though you are only yards from the vibrant Rembrandt Square, it had the feel of a boutique hotel in the countryside. We would definately book this hotel again on our next Amsterdam trip.

Terrible hotel close to Rembrandt Square

Pros: The location was a few metres from a tram line, great eating and people watching cafés. It was 30 minutes from the museum district.
Cons: A serious renovation of paint, replacement of carpets, furniture, and less use of added scents to ventilation system.

First room had large water stains on the ceiling and water damage beneath this area making the cheap veneered desk lift and catch on clothing. Allergic reaction so asked to move. Moved next day to a room with a very dirty carpet and seriously frayed towel but less water damage on the ceiling. Staff was friendly and helpful including the concierge, reception and manager. Furniture in area across from the concierge was very stained. Breakfast was good.

In desperate need of a makeover.

Pros: It's position ( close th Rembrandt Square). Beds were comfortable
Cons: It's decor (peeling wallpaper, damaged paintwork on most doors). Staff - whilst generally efficient are not welcoming.
Location: Close to Rembrandt Square, trams and canals
Altogether an unsatisfactory experience. Standard rooms very small and everything (inc. in room tea/coffee facilities are extras). Room servicing poor, cleaning clothes left in room and carpets dirty. The hotel also suffers from being two hotels in one with shared reception and concierge facilities

Shabby, not my idea of a 4 star hotel.

Staff did not advise about prepaid breakfast. Room was small and tired looking. Had to ask for pillows and towels. Looked out over an apartment complex. All in all just disappointed
