Brilliant location!

Pros: Staff friendliness and bike hire.
Location: Museums !
Despite the small size of our room, this was more than outweighed by the friendly staff and brilliant location next door to amsterdams famous museums. Price was very reasonable for this part of town. Excellent tram connections to centre of town.

Pros: See above.
Cons: The room rate and the photos online really didn't reflect what we were getting. I think the room rate should be dropped to a 3 star rate.
Location: Walking distance from Centraal Station, Anne Frank's house, the restaurant strip and the nightlife if you're into that side of things.
I stayed at this hotel in March 2014. The photos on the Internet aren't exactly what you get with a standard room. I paid decent money for the stay and expected a decent 4.5 - 5 star hotel. What we got was a fairly cramped little bedroom with not much room at all. It wasn't all bad. The bathroom was fantastic and seemed brand new. Also, the staff are very helpful and friendly, giving us some tips on what to see, eat and do in Amsterdam. They also held onto our bags all day the next day after check out, which was handy as our flight wasn't until 9pm. Also, they have bicycles for hire which are far cheaper than than your ordinary hire places and they were very new bikes and easy to ride.

Good hotel if you want to stay somewhere quiet.

Pros: Unpretentious, friendly, as described on site. Relatively good value for Amsterdam.
Cons: The steepness of the staircase and a plug in the sink.
Location: Close to museums and at least one good restaurant.
Slept well in pleasant first floor room; good buffet style breakfast. Generous and friendly staff.

Pros: Close to trams, museum. Large rooms Comfortable beds Lovely breakfast
Location: Close to museums Trams into city including central station
Possible the most comfortable beds in Europe Quiet location Close to trams, Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh museum, diamond displays and places to book canal cruises. Staff asked if we would like an early morning breakfast the day we left. The hotel has a lift which is small an as is common in Amsterdam the stairs are narrow those with decreased mobility may find this hotel challenging.

The hotel staff was very nice. The room was clean. The location is fantastic - in the museum district - close to the center (walking distance) - but quiet neighborhood.

Very well-run hotel, great location for museums

Pros: Location near all three museums and Vondelpark, and on quiet street. Breakfast pleasant experience.
Cons: Mineral water was on table but to pay for - complimentary would be nice.
Location: Riojksmuseum - fantastic, Van Gogh museum - wonderful, Stedelijk museum - ok, some reservations, Vondelpark - lovely big park for walking
Hotel is on the street by the Rijksmuseum so very convenient, yet quiet and refined area. Fine traditional tall Dutch house, characterful yet in very good condition. Breakfast had very good choice, good quality and pleasant staff. Room slightly cramped in places but spacious and well fitted bathroom

Pros: Good area, friendly staff.
Cons: Breakfast fine but not a huge selection.
Location: Literally around the corner from the Van Gogh museum. Took children to NEMO which was brilliant for families.
2 parents and 2 children stayed, had enormous room with 2x2 beds. Staff really helpful. Just by museums but in a quiet street. Free wifi, BBC1 and BBC2!

Fab friendly little hotel with character

We wanted a quiet break with some museums. We got it - a lovely hotel with fab staff. Right in the centre of the city museum district but still quiet at night. Need to go out to eat and for nightlife but that's ok. It wasn't far to walk.
