Perfect cozy home away from home; great locationPosted Oct 28, 2013
Excellent location near Vondelpark on one side and great cafes and shopping on the other. Relaxing at the end of a long day biking; quiet, lovely street. Excellent cappuccino in the lobby.

Great locationPosted Oct 17, 2013
Pros: Great location, clean and great staff.
Cons: The walls are paper thin and it was very noisy.
Location: Within a few minutes walking to shopping, museums & restaurants.
The Hotel Alexander was located within a few minutes walking distance to great shopping, museums, bars and restaurants. The room was clean and staff was very friendly and helpful. However, 2 out of 3 nights I was awake until 2:00 am listening to people upstairs above our room. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. I would not stay here again for this reason, I even had ear plugs in and I still couldn't sleep.

Window was anable to work!Posted Oct 14, 2013
In my stay in Amusterdum, there was fine days but temp. was 8-9 degree in the night. The window was not close tightly and wind come from the gap of window. Also sound or noises made me discomfort !

Great locationPosted Aug 29, 2013
Great location very close to the museums, trams, Leidseplein Square and city center. The staff (Jay) is very helpful. We arrived early (9 am) and he was more than happy to keep our luggage under lock and key. He was also able to get us into our rooms by 1:30 pm. He also knows the city well and was more than happy to give reccomendations and transporation tips.

Perfect location, very nice staffPosted Aug 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
We were 3 adults staying for 3 nights at Hotel Alexander and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I have stayed in a few hotels in Amsterdam and this was one of the best in this price range. Staff is wonderful (especially one of the guys working there, did not get his name but he was very helpful and talkative) No disturbance whatsoever from surroundings, the street is beautiful and it is literally a couple of minutes walk to Leidseplein, Vondelpark and the Museum quarter. Beds and pillows were very comfortable, and breakfast was well worth the charge. It was not a lot, but it had "everything" and very tasty coffee and juices. The little terrace and garden were also a nice addition, sit there for breakfast or in the warm summer evenings. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who like smaller, more personal hotels over big hotel chains. I would also live here again if travelling back to Amsterdam anytime soon.

Quiet hotel, close to Vondelpark and LeidsepleinPosted Aug 6, 2013
Cons: Room size
Location: Quiet and convienent
Hotel is in a quiet location, but also close to the restaurants at Leidseplein and also 5 minutes walk from Vondlepark and 10 minutes from the museums. We walked into Amsterdam city centre easily, but there are also trams a couple of minutes walk away. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are very small - bed, desk and shower room - not much other space. A fridge is provided and a also wall fan, which we needed because the weather was hot while we were there. You can get a bus to and from the airport to Leidseplein which was better than the train and much cheaper than a taxi. Breakfast is available at 10 Euros each, however, there is a great pancake restaurant by the canal towards Leidseplein as well as many other resturants... Cafe Luxemborg (about 10 minute walk towards the city) also does great breakfasts.

Character and locationPosted Jun 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
Loved the location and character of the hotel and area. Central yet in a quiet street and near park and tourist destinations. Room was small but that is normal in Amsterdam. Would stay again without hesitation. Very helpful staff.

A Perfect Location for UsPosted Jun 9, 2013
Pros: Our quiet, clean and comfortable room was the perfect place to rest after full days of exploring this wonderful city.
Location: For us, it was great to have the tranquility of the park area while still having easy access to the city either by foot, tram, or bus.
We were very pleased with this little gem of a hotel. We were especially happy to discover Hotel Alexander is only a short, five-minute walk to the bus stop for the Schiphol Airport route. This made both our arrival and departure quick, easy, and--most of all--very affordable. Just think of all the museum tickets you can buy with the money you save from taxi fares!
