Incredible value for the price.Posted Mar 2, 2014
I got a free upgrade from deluxe room to studio room. The room was huge, very clean and modern. The bed was big and comfortable. The bathroom had bath and shower. Overall very good. The parking was very expensive - 25€ per day.

Nice friendly hotel easy to access cityPosted Feb 26, 2014
Pros: The hotel's approach as you walk towards building is fantastic, the character of the hotel was best feature.
Cons: Check out did take a while (15min wait), perhaps have a staggered check out period
Location: The location is quiet enough to be out of the hustle and bustle, but easily accessible to the city with a 5-10min tram ride into the city.
A really nice and welcoming hotel, we were made to feel welcome on arrival. The hotel was very clean and had a nice look and feel. The room had quirky but good layout, plenty of space and you could make yourself fee at home. Very nice shower facilities and a very comfy bed. The hotel was easily accessible on the tram and metro (if you don't mind a 5min walk). The hotel staff made themselves available to help with routes and could buy day passes from reception.

Not what I expectedPosted Feb 17, 2014
Location: The location is nice, near Oosterpark, quiet and clean neighborhood,as far as I could see, being at the hotel only one full day.
When I arrived in the room I was not so pleased to see that the door was opening right into the bed.The staff was kind enough to change the room for"a split one".which was better for me. At my arrival,I was a little bit surprised by the fact that I was asked to give my credit card for a deposit required "in case of extras",my room being already paid through Expedia.I had a sum blocked on my account on the evening of my arrival. I left one day earlier than scheduled and I found out that on the day of my departure ,without any warning,or approuval from my part,I had another sum blocked on my account. And I didn't made any extras on the room. The total amount blocked now,is more than one night stay. I send two mails to ask what happened and I don't have any answer yet. I use to travel a lot and it's for the first time that it is happening to me. I hope not to have another money blocked from this hotel on my account,in a day or two...

Good city hotel little bit out of centrePosted Feb 17, 2014
Pros: Quiet and nice restaurant and bar
Cons: Staff could ask guests of nightclub to move off premises as there was an extreme amount of noise after the Friday night club emptied out
Location: Not a lot you need to either like a good walk or take the tram
Nice hotel very friendly staff. Mix up with room when first arrived but quickly sorted. Had room over front reception but be warned lots of noise until 4 am on Friday night as nightclub attached to hotel empties out in front of reception. Overall nice hotel a little bit out of the centre but trams on doorstep and only a 4 or 5 stops to centre.

Pleasant surprisePosted Jan 2, 2014
Pros: Very contemporary, the rooms were stylish, spacious and clean, and the hotel was close to a tram to take you to the centre of town in 5 minutes.
Cons: Very minor things, strength of shower, and the shower gel/shampoo and hand wash we were provided with were both empty.
Location: Close to the city centre and the artis zoo, all in all a good location.
Booked this hotel for a couple of nights over New Year's Eve on a good deal and was very happy with the quality of the hotel. My girlfriend and I were given one of the split level deluxe rooms which was very spacious, the bathroom was well decorated and the whole room was very clean, and the king size bed was very comfortable. We only stayed on room only basis so I couldn't comment on the quality of food etc, however what I experienced was very good and I would definitely recommend it.

Great location, quiet but centralPosted Dec 11, 2013
Pros: Clean, quiet and great value
Location: Bars, restaurants, nice individual shops, close to main centre and Tropic musuem within five minutes walk.
Having stayed in Amsterdam many times over the past years it was great to find a boutique style hotel in such a geat location. Only 4 stops on tram from Leidseplein but with excellent bars (Cafe Bukowski in particular) near as well as restaurants and shops. Hotel is an old orphanage building well restored and deluxe rooms although quirky are excellent. Hotel bar is also good and they turn the bar into a TV studio with a live TV show beaming on Sunday evening - only downside is we could not get in!

Nice HotelPosted Dec 7, 2013
Overall, I stayed at the hotel for a week and it was great. It was about a 10 to 15 minute walk to the center of Amsterdam, but the walk was enjoyable (and there is a low cost supermarket nearby). The staff were very nice and multilingual. The room was kept clean and the coffee and tea offering is convenient. I would stay here again.
