reasonable hotel, very dated. More like a motelPosted Oct 16, 2013
Pros: Reception where nice to give me a free bus ticket, other than that, limited
Cons: bad atmosphere, the place felt cold and unwelcoming.
Location: Short bus to the Ajax Arena, and the Bordeland, but overall I was warned off staying in the area due to problems at night time.
My first experience of this hotel was to be given the wrng directions from the reception, having to take a taxi to the hotel, only for the taxi man to say 'dont go out at night around this area'. I thought he was joking at first, but no. Very old fashioned, in need of renovating. Room door led directly outside to the car park, and a bus stop. Noisy road at night, and can hear those in the rooms around you quiet clearly. I then had the joy of paying nearly £30 for breakfast, which consisted of some apple slices, warmed bread that was meant to be toast, and orange juice. The 2nd morning I had to share a table with a random man, as there was no structure to the seating and a large group had taken a lot of the dining room up

Great Convenient LocationPosted Oct 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel is very well placed, allowing you to leave your car in the free car park and use the very economic public transport in Amsterdam. The Metro & Bus terminus is adjacent to the hotel, and just a 20 minute journey has you in the centre of Amsterdam.

Seen better days.Posted Aug 24, 2013
Pros: Friendly Reception staff. having a kettle in our room. Location near to Metro.
Cons: Cleanliness of room and toilet. Room looked rather knocked about and needs to be re-decorated. Seemed a little grubby.
Location: Near to Metro which provides excellent link to Amsterdam city centre.
Excellent location near to the metro if you don't mind the half an hour trip into the city. Metro and tram links are frequent and journey is easy. Hotel offers free parking and being situated on the south of the city enables visitors travelling from the south to park up without having to negotiate the Amsterdam city centre traffic. Ravin on Reception was excellent, providing us with a very warm welcome every time we went entered the hotel and offering us help and advise whenever required.

Cheap and cheerfulPosted Aug 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
Stayed at the campanile 2 nights (fri-sat) Aug 2013, we booked because it was so much cheaper than staying in Dam central and only 1 metro from centraal ... Although upon arrival in Amsterdam we were informed that the metro line we needed was closed due to construction for one month .... We had to take an alternate bus then get on a metro, however due to the public transport in and around Amsterdam being so simple €2.80 for 1 hour of unlimited transport on bus, tram or metro, we arrived at the hotel within 40 mins, staff were extremely helpful when we rang to explain our predicament, the girl on reception said she would be waiting even tho last check in should be 11pm and I rang at 1030 from the bus! Upon arrival we were greeted with smiles. Room was standard no frills but had everything we needed , tea, coffee, milk, sugar, kettle, tv although mainly Dutch. Motel style hotel (room door leads outside) and though we were told it was no smoking, hotel ashtrays were on the walls outside each room so if you want to smoke you don't need to go far. Excellent parking and seems perfect for anyone travelling Europe in a car. Didn't eat at the hotel so can't make comment. The staff also informed us the journey to Amsterdam central needed just a metro then a tram to the centre which was easier but once the construction finishes ( 25 aug 13) this will be a perfect choice if you're on a budget and don't fancy the extortion of the city centre rates.

Good Hotel with Excellent StaffPosted May 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
Room small, but comfortable for price. Very quiet and safe location - just a short drive to highway. Excellent Staff Members - very helpful -especially Linda. Free on site gated parking. Hotel is next to Metro rail station with direct line to downtown Amsterdam - did not take car out entire time - used metro rail system. Downfalls- no laundry facility in or near hotel. Hotel has laundry service, but very expensive. No phone in room, but desk will let you use theirs. Also no Air Conditioning - may want to consider this in July or August if you visit. Restaurant has breakfast worth the price. Did not try other meals as we were site seeing all day and did not return until late. If we are lucky to go back to Amsterdam again, this will be our hotel.

Basic but good servicePosted Feb 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
This was a hotel with quite a nice reception, bar, dining area, but the rooms were basic but clean. More of a motel feel.

This hotel was perfectly located for where I had to be. However, I think that for the price I paid I would expect the room to be a lot more luxurious. The bathroom was quite grubby. The bed itself was comfortable. The service was 100% ! The staff were always prepared to help if needed and that was a great bonus ! Also, I would have thought that for the price the breakfast would have been included but it was either 6€ for the set breakfast or 11€ for the buffet extra !

Cosey!Posted Oct 30, 2012 on Hotels.com
One night stay. Chosen for its "triple room", location to Metro and free parking. Room was very small before they added the third bed we'd ordered. Room was dangerously uncomfortable with the 3rd bed. We thought we had booked a triple room. This was a twin room with the 3rd bed added after arrival.
