This was an excellent hotel. Staff were helpful, and the room was spacious and clean. The only disappointment was on Expedia it’s advertised as having laundry facilities, but it does not. Nor are there any laundromats nearby. ( only drop off/ pick up laundry, but that isn’t close)

Overall the hotel was fine. A little difficult to get there at night because of some road work but nothing too bad. They offer free access asking which is a plus. Once inside the staff was really friendly. The first problem I encounter was that in order to get to my assigned room I had to go through a small hall and go down a couple stairs into the restaurant they have inside, then open a door that led to some small spiral stairs and go up with all my luggage. I was afraid to trip an fall so I had to do two trips up and down to get all my stuff in the room. Once I was finally there I decided to take a bath, which was one of the reasons why I chose this hotel, because they had a bathtub, and to my horror… they didn’t have hot water!!! This is 11pm at 1C. I was really frustrated and went downstairs to talk to the front desk person and the man that was there didn’t really speak English and all he could said was that they had a problem with the pipe so no hot water. I was really disappointed and frustrated ( and very cold after my quick cold shower) If it wasn’t for those reasons I would stay there again since is really close to the airport yet pretty quiet around the area.

I didn’t like that it was advertised as if it’s close to Amesterdam and it’s actually in the middle of non where. I like that staff was real accommodating.

The front desk was helpful to help with plane seating for our return trip. But the breakfast cook came into our room and stole a watch from a desktop. She ignored our DO NOT DISTURB sign and used her passkey to come in and "inspect" our fridge WHILE WE WERE ASLEEP, and after that, the watch was gone. Lydia, the cook from Croatia, is a thiefr and is rude to customers. They need to firer her. It makes us not want ever come back. Also I was charged extra money on my credit card by Ismail the driver, so because of this, i froze my account. Amsterdam is a den of thieves and ripoffs, don't go there. Save money. Also the Dam is all screwed up by construction -- a giant hole in the ground, next to the central station. So i will never go there again. Shuttle never came to pick us up at the airport. We had to pay a taxi. Shame on them.

Hotel Chariot is a jewel In the heart of flower marketers a few miles from AMS airport. It is in a beautiful village setting. The Chariot has a wonderful restaurant and bar. The staff is absolutely wonderful, friendly and fun. The rooms a terrific plenty of space. I have visited this hotel over the past 15 years as my end of Europe visit. For me it is a place to relax, enjoy a terrific meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner, chat with the staff and prepare for my flight home. I have returned many time, I will return in the future and I recommend this to anyone who wants a last night in Holland to be relaxing. Hotel Chariot is timeless in terms of service and wonderful people ... I will be back .. thank you... P.S. I believe that they may still have a shuttle to the airport as they did in years past .. Enjoy ...missing you already .. Peter

After reading a few bad reviews we threw caution to the wind and do not regret it. Food and service good in a probably renovated room. Only downside I would say is the shuttle is free one way and 20 back.

This hotel is located in a really cute city and fit really well with the neighbourhood. The staff was great and the restaurant of the hotel was excellent (except the breakfast that was just OK). That is a great place to stay between flights.

My partner and I regularly get early morning flights from Amsterdam Airport and use hotels nearby. Our usual hotel was fully booked so we tried the Chariot. Our normal trips involve us getting a shuttle from the train station to the airport. So when we booked we checked this hotel also had the same service which it did. However it did not make it clear there was a €22 charge for this. On arrival we went to the shuttle bus collection point, could not see the Chariot so we called. Was told to go upstairs and stand by Departure 3 exit E. We made our way and was passed through to the driver who confirmed this. After waiting the advised twenty minutes and still waiting we called. We were told “you are not looking hard enough” and to “look harder”. Very rude in my opinion. He recapped the steps 3 more times “stand E, you know A, B, C, D, E...E for Echo”. After looking and looking we found him at stand A. He tried to say that was E, and did not apologise once. Not good service. We got to the hotel for the lady at reception to be on the phone to another hotel booking a room. She was rude and abrupt to this person meanwhile we stood there not being acknowledge or spoken to. After 5 minutes she said she won’t be long. We waited a further 5 minutes listening to this rude call. It was very awkward and embarrassing to hear. I regret booking the hotel chariot.

Further away from Amsterdam then made to believe when booking. Nice room. Large bed, even if it was two single matresses. Noise from outside was bearable but planes in the morning can be heard and are slightly disturbing. As is the noise outside the door in the morning of the cleaning staff. lack of milk for tea and coffee was annoying. Check in was very basic, no real welcome from staff. Same with check out. Not a bad place but for the price and the rating you expect more.

We really wanted to like the place but the receptionist left a bad taste in our mouths after she used her 10 years of experience working there as a way to sympathize(?) with us about our request to have the room dusted, and a clear explanation on the hidden fee for the airport shuttle which was a separate company. One of the individuals from the shuttle service even remarked on the receptionists incompetence when he told us he had been waiting at one level and we at another because the receptionist was not understanding that the 1st level to them in Europe is the second level to us in the US. When we asked if we could get a shuttle pickup after we were unable to get an Uber after dinner the same receptionist told us we the shuttle was for airport pickup and drop off only and then a fellow patron got ahold of the owner of the shuttle service and had them come out and get us! It was really bizarre luck but either way it would’ve been nice if we had been given the full scope of what I’m paying for beforehand and had a clean room and not one where you can see little dust floaties flying around everywhere

When we got in the lift it started to go up with the doors open me and my friend ran out as fast as we could!! It was nice hotel, only problem is far away from Amsterdam, which is where the website told us it was based so we had to cycle everywhere to get anything it was fun but forever!! Was abit out dated

a plane spotters paradise....
Good hotel for the price and proximity of airport - though not so good to get to my office in schiphol rijk. Plane spotters would love the fact that its near the end of one of schiphol's runways (though they rotate use so as not to disturb residential areas) - so it was not an issue late evening or early morning. The hotel room was very clean and comfortable and the front of house reception was very friendly. If you are looking to get into the city center then be aware is quite a trek.

add the cost of transportation to your stay
They advertise shuttle service but they charge 22 euros to use the shuttle once you get there, Uber charges 20 euros and public transportation is 3/4 mile from the hotel

We do indeed charge for the shuttle service however the first transfer is free of charge and then €22,00. Uber will charge €20,00 one way.

Pretty nice service, good price, excellent room, professional people, perfect restorant and food. Perfect place to relax. We were very satisfied by the nice and polite people there. Excellent bus shuttle service provided to the aeroport. Thanks! If i am going to visit Amsterdam again, i will book this hotel for sure!
