“Happily surprised”

Wasn't sure what to expect, but were very happily surprised. The location was great and the hotel staff were very pleasant. Good breakfasts. The triple room was small but very comfortable.

We had a family room for 4. After reading some of the other reviews before we stayed we were feeling a little bit apprehensive about what we were letting ourselves in for but we were absolutely delighted with everything. The hotel was ideally placed for any sightseeing "on foot" around Amsterdam. It was next door to the Vondel Park and just round the corner from all the museums, it was on the same street as all the "designer" shops (e.g. Chanel, Gucci). The hotel itself was an established hotel and not a shiny new hotel but it was clean and provided everything you could want. Our room was nicely furnished and spacious with an "en suite" shower room with toilet and hair dryer. The towels were changed every day. The beds were made every day and there was a television and kettle etc. The dining room downstairs was nicely furnished and very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a buffet "Continental breakfast" and you could eat and drink as much as you wanted. There were all kinds of bread and rolls, scrambled egg, boiled egg, cheese and various meats, melon, salad, cereal, yoghurt, orange juice, apple juice, milk, chocolate milk, tea, coffee and then the usual continental breakfast things. The dining room staff were very kind and helpful. The reception staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. What more could you want? I think that if people want a good base for a sight seeing holiday then this is a very good place.

This hotel was in a perfect location near Vondelpark and very close to the major museums and tram lines. I would stay here again if I return to Amsterdam.

I had a room on 2nd floor facing the street. Got a great nights rest. Enjoyed the breakfast and all the attractions were nearby - museums, park, a little bakery. Room is small, but, it had everything I needed for a comfortable stay.
