Highly recommended for budget travellerPosted Apr 12, 2014
Hotel staff was very very friendly. Location was excellent - 5 minutes away from Metro/tram. Bed was very comfortable and the area was very quiet at night so we all had some good sleep. Room was very clean and the cleaning staff did an excellent job. Wifi works quite well overall. Adaptor was provided and it is a plus. Supermarket Albert Hejin was 10 minutes away Our room was on the fifth floor - with no elevators climbing the stairs could be physically difficult. Private toilet was so ridiculously small I had quite a lot of fun trying not to hurt myself every time I move/shower.

Reasonable Budget HotelPosted Nov 2, 2013
Pros: The receptionist was happy to help regarding the room issue and there is access to a proper coffee machine in the ground floor kitchen. A real plus.
Cons: The insulation, although some rooms seem to have solid walls.
Location: Just outside the main central zone but picturesque with the Hermitage on the opposite side of the canal. 10 minutes walk to the centre.
The double room initially allocated was at the top of the hotel, up 3 flights of narrow stairs. The room alongside the party wall was occupied by a noisy couple (the wall was paper thin) but I was able to change to a blissfully quiet room, albeit it was a single room.

Short breakPosted Sep 8, 2013
Nice hotel in great location for trams and metro. Rooms are small but clean and modern. Bars and restaurants are close but not too close to be noisy when your trying to sleep. Close to small supermarket where we bought breakfast as it was too dear in the hotel. Free wifi was intermittent on the 5th floor but fast elsewhere in the hotel.

Location is not everything!Posted Sep 4, 2013
Pros: Nice collection of teas to make tea anytime you wished
Cons: new beds, new carpets, serious capital expenditure! And better cleaning! It is filthy.
Location: Location is great - close enough to the centre and by a beautiful canal.
Very good location but this is not a well run hotel - it urgently needs capital expenditure to make it acceptable. Or alternatively, it should just accept that it is only fit as a cheap hostel and charge the appropriate prices. Lack of hot water in the tiny shower/toilet was a first for me for a so called hotel in a capital European city. Stay somewhere else!

loved the tiny narrow house!Posted Aug 12, 2013
Pros: the attic room!
Cons: wall papers were peeling in some places. no wifi in room...but didn't bother us much.
Location: it's 30 mins walk towards southeast from the amsterdam central station. 15 mins walk from the dam square. we didnt mind the walk.
we stayed on the 5th floor of attic room which was tiny but very cute. it had good view of amsterdam and nice wind blowing through the room. its great if you don't mind walking through 5 flights of miniature stairs, and you don't have a big luggage...because there are no elevators. free coffee and chocolate machine was amazing on the first floor where we could sit outside and enjoy our drinks. there was a adorable cat there. free wifi but we didn't get any in our room...maybe it was too far up...we really enjoyed staying here. we feel like we got to experience the tiny narrow house we see on the side of canal everyone's taking pictures of!

stay awayPosted Jul 5, 2013
the hotel is very small. no lift at all so you must carry your luggage up the tiny stair ways. the room was extremely small. You could not even sit on the toilet properly because your knees would literally be hitting the wall. The linens on the bed barely fit the bed. The extra blanket provided looked to have some sort of large stain on it.

Nice hotel in quiet but central locationPosted May 30, 2013
Pros: Beds were comfortable
Cons: No lifts, not ideal if you are located on the top floor and have a large suitcase to carry
Location: Good location. Aprox 5 minute walk from Rembrandt Square
Nice boutique hotel located aprox 5 minutes from Rembrandt Square. I could not fault the cleanliness of this this hotel, and decor of rooms was very modern with comfortable beds , however there were no lifts so would not recommend if you have lots of luggage to carry. I would definately return to this hotel - excellent value for money!

Perfect if you are on a budgetPosted May 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
5th floor twin room was 2 metres wide by 5 metres long with rafters at an angle making it some what tricky to negotiate when both guests are 188cm (6fy 2"). Arrived, checked in and then went out again. Returned in the early hours and went to bed. This hotel did what we needed it to do. Not somewhere I would recommend for a romantic getaway. Pay more and enjoy the trip more.

Not up to standardPosted May 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
Bathroom door was missing, so while taking shower, water will splash over. Not much place to put toiletries in the toilet with 5 people staying in a room. Bathroom door cannot be locked as well. Hotel charged us for breakfast even though they say breakfast is included in the booking. Breakfast was awful.. not much variety. The person use hands to handle the food..very unhygienic. Cat is also in the kitchen, unhygienic. No kettle in the room. Hotel is far away from central.

it was a really good place to stay and we were happy with everything, except they charged us 20 euro for breakfast on our last day - 20 euros for 3 buns 3 slices of ham two slices of tomato and one croissant :P
