“I'd go back”

I would recommend this hotel - it is clean and comfortable. I have stayed at some great and some pretty awful places in Amsterdam and found this just lovely.

“Good for the price”

For the price this hotel was fine. Its location is ideal. It is less than a block from the corner of Leidestraat and Prinsenstraat therefore you are adjacent to a countless number of restaurants. If you can walk about a mile, then you do not need cab fare or the tram to see the Anne Frank House, Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum. Vondelpark is also close by so if you are a jogger then bring your running shoes. My room was the smallest hotel room I ever had BUT I slept well. The continental breakfast which opened at 7 AM was adequate just enough to get you going in the morning and you can always supplement it later with a Dutch Pancake later in the morning. One thing I should mention though, there is a “Dutch Coffee” House a few doors away. Some of their patrons may also be the hotel patrons and you may notice a certain smell (at least I did and it reminded me of the old college dorm days, hey, it’s Holland). Luckily my window opened and the odor diminished. Overall a good hotel for the money.

“For those who don't plan to spend much time inside”

The first thing that amazed me is how small a room can be. Yet taking into acount the low price, it was quite comfortable especially if you don't plan to spend much time in the room. A number of restaurants around the corner, various shops and quite a large food store a couple of blocks away. Fifteen minutes walk to the city center. A tram stop nearby. My GPS phone failed to connect to the Internet due to weak wi-fi in my room, and I had to go down to the lobby. The bathroom was small but clean. Staff was very helpful. When I needed a computer they gave me a netbook. There was no problem in leaving my suitcase for several hours after checkout.

“Great Amsterdam location”

Fantastic location - tram lines 1,2,5 stop one block away and go to Central Station, red light district area. Lots of great restaurants around the corner, and a quick 5 minute walk to awesome nightlife. The staff was ok - but we also didn't ask them for recommendations or anything. Just checked in and out. Hotel was clean and comfortable. The free wi-fi was definitely a plus :)

“Hotel Adequate, Location Great”

It is a 3-star rated hotel, but don't expect US three star stamndards. This is an old house by the Prinsengracht Canal, adequate for a stay but not luxurious by any means. They serve a good buffet breakfast, and internet is very good.

“Can't get any lower”

Worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Dirty, hot and small rooms. no air circulation. the floor moved when the lights went out.
