Great hotel in a wonderful location.

Easy walk from Cental station, fantastic location, excellent and knowledgeable staff - what more could you ask for. We were very pleased with every aspect of our stay and would not hesitate in booking the Hotel Pulitzer again.

Great location on Prinsengracht.

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: The service was excellent and the staff unobtrusive yet very helpful. Staff training must be extremely good. It shows.
Cons: Possibly a larger lobby area.
Location: Just the right distance from the hurly burly of Dam Square with quite a few restaurants within walking distance. Anne Frank House one block away.
We have stayed in many great hotels in many countries but the Pulitzer stands out as one of the few great ones. We were in an executive suite with a view of the garden - quiet, green and beautifully maintained with the hydrangeas in full bloom. The concierges (we dealt with 2 of them) were very focused on our needs and provided us with excellent advice on restaurants and out-of-town trips. They were very knowledgeable and were able to discern our tastes quite effortlessly.

Beautiful Hotel on A Beautiful Canal

Posted Jun 21, 2014
Pros: Everything. It's obvious that the hotel management has instilled a sense of quality service in the staff that permeates all hotel functions.
Cons: Nothing that we encountered.
Location: Well located for all the great attractions of Amsterdam. It was an easy cab ride to our cruise ship the next morning. We visited the museums as well
We stayed here prior to boarding a 12 night Baltic Cruise to celebrate our son's high school graduation; the hotel was recommended by our friend Des who had stayed there recently. Prior to leaving home I corresponded with the hotel's general manager, requesting a roll away bed for our son who would be staying in the same room with us. I mentioned the occasion of our visit. On arrival it almost seemed like they were waiting for us! We were treated great and after a short wait for our room to be prepared found that we had been assigned to a most amazing room! This room was a two story affair, facing the canal, and very beautifully appointed. My wife and I slept upstairs and our son slept on the roll away in the living room area. They even put a bottle of champagne and a plate of fresh strawberries in the room, along with a hand written card congratulating our son on his achievement!!! The room was perfect. The breakfast was extraordinarily good with distinctive service. All employees encountered were friendly and helpful. In summary, it was just a great memorable stay.....

Nice hotel close to Anne Frank House.

Friendly staff. Close to Ann Frank House which also has a water stop. I would recommend the 24 hr pass for the water taxi. Easy walk from hotel. One consideration for some, we booked a canal view room (which was very nice) but required steps. The hotel is a series of attached buildings and our room was located at the end if the hall which meant we had to go up and down stairs at each "different building". This wasn't an issue for us, but could be to some others. Overall the hotel was very pleasant. We would stay there again.

Fantastic hotel

Excellent service from the hotel staff. They are very friendly, attentive and informative. I was our first time in Amsterdam so I asked the concierge to recommend us places to eat and trips to the countryside, which he promptly arranged on our behalf and made our time there very memorable.

Peaceful, interesting decor, perfect central locat

Pros: Very characterful! Created from 20 individual 17th century houses, incredibly cute. LOVED the courtyard, perfect for a quiet catch up.
Cons: You REALLY need to offer free Wifi - you're an upmarket hotel. Would have liked in-room tea and coffee. Serving staff could be better trained.
Location: Perfect location, I would walk everywhere easily. You are a few minutes away from Anne Frank's house and most major attractions.
I stayed at the Pulitzer Hotel over the King's Day weekend. My room faced the courtyard and was completely quiet despite the parades going on in the streets! Perfect escape from the crowds. The hotel desk staff were helpful at every turn and there are lots of nooks and crannies and beautiful courtyards to have sophisticated business meetings. I liked the art throughout the hotel, it made it feel very homely. When I stay in Amsterdam I prefer to walk everywhere and the Pulizter is perfect for this, you are as central as you can be. The serving staff could have been a little more attentive. Both times I ordered from the Espresso Bar and in the Courtyard it took a long time for things to arrive, and one waitress forgot my drinks order entirely. When I ordered room service (the burger is very good...) it was one taken to the wrong room, and it took a very long time for it to arrive on both occasions. But the room service menu itself was surprisingly delicious. You had to pay for "proper Wifi" (free Wifi was slow and unreliable) and also for breakfast which I think is pretty cheap if you are paying €300 per night.

Pros: Excellent service from all departments
Cons: the toasters at breakfast
Location: Amsterdam is beautiful and you can walk round from the Hotel the canals
Lovely hotel - beautiful rooms some with canal views - worth having - restaurant good and most attentive service. Enjoyed the canal boat which belongs to the Hotel and is a restored Edwardian boat ( ie about 1900) So you can take the canal trip from the hotel and its lovely

Great Location in the heart of Amsterdam

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Wonderful spot in Amsterdam! Some recommendations: Provide top sheets. - the duvet/bed cover can be very hot. In room coffee maker: since the room is so lovely it is nice to just stay inside in the morning and have coffee there Since you do offer free wifi (even though have to log in every 2 hours) you should advertise that as it is a decision breaker for some if they don't have free wifi
