Decent hotel in central Amsterdam

Posted Oct 18, 2014
Pros: The location is excellent for access to the station and the center of the city.
This Hotel is a little tricky to find so I suggest you get a decent handle on the location beforehand. I stayed on the 4th floor which required an elevator to the second floor then a walk down a corridor to a second elevator and up two more floors though my room number was 2409. The hotel is very clean, well maintained and the rooms as very comfortable with all the facilities you would expect of a hotel in this price range. It can be a little noisy at night with those returning to the hotel having clearly enjoyed the local supplies offered by the countless bars and 'coffee' shops. It's a 7 or 8 minute walk from the central station so if you've minimal bags a walk is no issue. I'd probably consider staying here again. The previous week I had stayed at the Doubletree and whilst that hotel was a notch up on the Inntel it's location isn't as central.

Great location

Cons: As pee my comment above.
Great hotel, very clean. We just found the beds and pillows too soft, apart from that all good.

Nice hotel, excellent helpful staff, good location

Posted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Options for breakfast. We were only offered a flat rate for a full breakfast. We do not always want a full breakfast.
Location: Lots of restaurants, shopping. Easy to take the tram everywhere. Lots of bikes available as well close by.
Fantastic city to visit. Saw the art galleries, museums and ate at lots of good restaurants. The hotel is very good at suggesting good restaurants. The hotel is walking distance to everything. If you are tired of walking, the trams are very inexpensive and offer a 24 hour pass to hop on and hop off any tram or bus.

Great small hotel in wonderful location

Posted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: I was able to get into my room early in the morning - the staff was very good about accommodating me.
Cons: Nothing!
Location: Very close to a main street with good tram service everywhere in the city. Walking distance from the train station and to the Dam.
Service was great in the small, clean hotel. The bathroom was small but sufficient and furnishings were new and modern in the room. Bed was VERY comfortable!

Central, clean, comfortable hotel.

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: The location was superb. In a busy area, but it was quiet & peaceful inside the hotel. The large room with a separate large bathroom was a bonus.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: The busy location was never a nuisance. Tourist attractions easily accessed on foot or by public transport. There were many restaurants nearby.
We stayed 6 days and enjoyed our stay immensely. The staff were professional, cheerful and only too willing to help, no matter how trivial the request. The hotel facilities were excellent.

If you rely on Wi-Fi, forget this hotel.

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: Location was perfect.
Cons: Wi-Fi was shockingly bad. In this day and age, it is crucial for most people to have a decent internet connection.
Location: In the City Centre. Close to most major attractions and shops/restaurants.
Stayed for a few days on business. Located close to Central Station and perfect if you need to be right in the city center. Check-in was quick and efficient. Decor looks a bit dated. Carpet design is that of street paving/bricks which looks tacky. Room had an okay bathroom with a not very powerful shower. The safe was small and just about fit my iPad. You couldn't put anything bigger in there. Otherwise it seemed tidy. There as a mini-fridge which was stocked with pricey soft drinks but you can use for your own drinks/food. No complementary water which most hotels provide which was pretty poor. TV bare-basic channels including BBC1 and BBC2 for those visiting from UK. There seems to be a HDMI port at the back of the TV which may or may not work for connecting devices but didn't have a cable to check. Towels smelt a bit. They need to change their washing powder/clean contractors. The Wi-Fi was shockingly bad. Could barely load a basic website nevermind any streaming. The 3G on my phone was MUCH faster. They need to sort that out big-time. If you need internet, forget this hotel! Didn't try the hotel breakfast. Had an air of a youth hostel to me so didn't try it. So many places outside to use if you don't want to spend a fortune on breakfast here.

Wonderful 'arty' hotel in Amsterdam

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: The 'arty' theme. Attitude of all staff (including front desk and cleaners was a wonderful experience. Smiles all day long!
Cons: Nothing
Location: Great location, quiet hotel, great access to central station and canal boat rides etc
Wonderful up-market hotel under 15 minutes walk to central station, information centre and boat trips. Good value. Hotel quite different to others in respect to decor. People and faces being the central theme with fabulous pics on the walls and desks in the dining room. Staff friendly and always smiling. Room in excellent condition, good sizeways, clean tidy. Fridge and Tea/coffee facilities. Trams virtually outside door and lots of nearby restaurants. Went around the corner for breakfast as hotel prices bit steep.

Very high standard hotel in great location

Posted Oct 10, 2014
Hotel is located a few minutes (5-10) from Central station and the picturesque centre (incl red light district). The hotel is on par with big brands like crown plaza or Marriott in style and luxury. The staff, especially in the lounge, were friendly and happy (keen to serve). Only negative point is the pillows. They were square and not soft. Never complained so not sure if there were alternatives. I would nonetheless go back here.
