“Wonderful Hotel”

This hotel was 2 stops from Amsterdam Central trainstation (10 minute journey) and the hotel was situated a minutes walk from the station in Zaandam. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the facilities were immaculate and the room was lovely and clean. The area of Zaandam itself was lovely, very friendly people, no tourists and a lovely ice cream shop! I would definately recommend this hotel to others and will definately go back!

“Excellent hotel”

Excellent hotel situated next to Zaandam train station which allows us to reach centre of Amsterdam within 15 minutes. If you prefer a quieter time, hotel was in situation right across the road from Zaandam centre which offers a plentiful supply of shops and restaurants. Staff at this hotel were very friendly and extremely helpful and made sure that you stay was very pleasant.

“Really enjoyed our stay!”

We were very pleased to have chosen this clean, modern hotel. It was literally 1.5 minutes from Zaandam station to the door of the hotel, and they could not have been more helpful. We arrived around 9am and they allowed us to check in anyway. Then when we needed to leave late on our last day, allowed us to leave bags with them all day. The costs were far more reasonable than central Amsterdam hotels of the same rating and yet it was only 10 minutes by train into Centraal station. Trains ran every 10 minutes so we never waited more than about 5 mins. Plus it was 20 mins by direct train to Schipol which was also handy. Being so close you might worry that we could hear the trains but we couldn't. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was always hot and powerful! All this made it great for our 4 day break in Amsterdam. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

“Great hotel, but not exactly in central location”

I recently stayed at the Golden Tulip Zaandam and was more than please by the hotel. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are very nice. The superior room in which we stayed even had a down comforter. The in hotel eatery is not very good. The prices are high and the food was just OK. If you are forced to eat in Zaandam and not Amsterdam you are better off to walk to the central town square and there are several places to choose from. Taking the train to Amsterdam can be expensive, generally $5 per round trip, and if you plan on taking a cab it will cost you near $100 per one-way trip. I had to take a cab because on New Years eve the trains stop running at 8pm. Overall, I would suggest this hotel to anyone. It is much more reasonable and nicer than anything you'll find in Amsterdam.

Great hotel, 10 min from Amsterdam central station. A great refugee after a busy city day. Very, very good bed!

“Perfect place for our honeymoon”

We loved this hotel! It was so convenient to take either bus or train into Amsterdam. You can walk to either station to catch public transportation. Very reasonable rates for nice rooms. Only ate at restaurant once, food was ok and hours weren't great. Restaurant seemed a bit overpriced, but the hotel rate itself was not. Would definitely stay here again! Highly recommended.

“Perfect hotel for a city break”

This hotel offers an excellent compromise between location and value for money. The hotel was exactly what we hoped for - very clean, very comfortable - very well maintained, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Getting into the city centre does mean having to get a train, but they run every 10 mins until 1:00 am, two stops and a couple of euros. The trains are also extremely clean and efficient.

“Lovely hotel - great value for money”

really nice hotel, excellent value for money. friendly staff. for the sake of a small train ride to centre of amsterdam i would recommend this hotel - much cheaper than central hotels with such a higher standard to offer. and its right next to the station - if we found it easy i guarentee every one else will!

“Everything you Need”

Excellent place to stay, for the price you get an excellent room with brillant staff, especially with regards tourist information. The hotel is right next to the train station and has frequent trains into amsterdam. Zaandam is worth a look around, and if you want a relitively quiet last night out its got a small but varied selection bars in zaandam square. We went for a weekend and managed to get as far afield as Urecht for trance energy(trains are like clockwork)

“Good hotel just 10 minutes from Centraal Station”

Fine little five story hotel with pleasant bar and breakfast room just two minutes walk from Zaandam rail station, but no noise from trains in hotel room. Zandaam is a nice little town but suffering from a lot of redevelopment at the moment, found a nice market there on Saturday. If you need a supermarket ask directions to the Albert Heijn, there is one just across the road, it is close but a bit of a walk due to the building work. As trains to Amsterdam depart around every 10 minutes and the last train back is well after midnight this makes a good base for exploring the city. If travelling from Schipol by train do not go all the way into the city, change at Sloterdijk and go to lower platform for a train to Zaandam, it is the next stop about 5 minutes away. I can recommend the hotel, very nice stay.
