“A very positive experience”

The staff were friendly & attentive. My room was comfortable & designed to my taste. Overall, a very good value for the money. Close proximity to Vondelpark & Museumplein.

“Great hotel, good location”

This hotel was great. The front desk was really helpful (considering my husband and I had no idea how to get around) and they were patient in helping us get to where we needed to get. There was free internet. The location was in a nice and quiet part of Amsterdam; close enough to get to the center of town by bus but far enough to stay away from the loud hustle and bustle. The room was a little small, but all european hotel rooms are small. Would definitely stay again.

“Great location, great room, great price, shame about the bed”

Fantastic 4* hotel just a short walk from the Vondelpark itself - pewrfectly located for bars and restaurants in the local area as well as providing each acces to the Van Gogh, Modern Art and Rijksmuseums, and only a little further to Leidesplein - the main nightlife area. The staff were great, the ensuite bathrooms (with shower AND bath) were great and the hotel as a whole was great - the only slight blot on an otherwise near-perfect stay was the mattress was on the softside.

“Our stay at Memphis”

The hotel is close to the museum plein, but far from everyplace else. Public transportation is nearby however. Most of the staff were very helpful with providing direction and help. The room had two closets and plenty of mirrors. It was comfortable. We had a fridge, but it would have been nice to also have a microwave.

“Very nice stay near the art museums”

The hotel is right on a Tram line that can take you into central, and it was very easy to figure out how to use this system. No need to buy tickets in advance or worry about exact change--the tram drivers make change and will even help by telling you where to get off to get to the hotel. The big museums are nearby, as is a supermarket for the budget-minded. (Otherwise, be prepard to pay too much for food everywhere.) The one disappointment was the hotel restaurant. The food was good enough (not great and not inspired, but competently done), but there was only one waiter and one chef, so the waiting was extremely long and uncomfortable after a long day of walking. Also, I would have liked to have some coffee in the room, and room service is ridiculously expensive. Still, relative to other places I looked at, this was a very nice place to stay and excellent for the money.

“My Letter From Memphis, Amsterdam.”

Opted for this hotel based on the good reviews and excellent location. The SW corner of the city is a really lovely residential area. Very convenient for trams and buses. My room - a single on the 2nd floor - was very small, with a tolerable bed, an ironing board and iron (unnecessary) but no kettle, cups or complimentary tea/coffee facilities in the room (surely standard in any decent hotel). A nice clean room, facing the noisy street, next to the noisy elevator with its constant traffic of noisy guests. The slamming of doors was a real nuisance in the night. Had to pay extra for breakfast - quite a lot - which was more than I had to do in another hotel nearby on a previous trip. A fine hotel but I recommend requesting a big room at the back.

“Mixed feelings”

Think Motel 6 at maybe three to seven times the price, but with less spacious rooms, a very helpful staff and the best hotel breakfast you've ever had.
