“Impressive”

Very nice hotel, been there 3 nights in Amsterdam. Only one bus, 10 minutes to the Leidsplein square and Vondel Park. Prices quite alright - worths the distance (Although i haven't gone out at night, in which case buses are 10 euros each) The hotel itself was clean and comfortable. There's a big lake nearby - very nice scenery.

Area recommendations

Vondel park - quite beautiful, Dam square: Madam Tusou, the Jewish Museum.

“some good, some not so good”

My ratings for service was knocked down a notch due to their freakishly high charge (Euro 21.50) for breakfast, each person. That was more than we spent for a good dinner there. The hotel was tidy, neat and clean. The room was hot though. Circulation of air cond. was very poor. Location is only marginal. Nothing in the surrounding area within walking distance to go eat, shop (even for convenience items), or to see. The bus stop was close and cheap though. Staff were VERY friendly.

“Avoid Mercure Amsterdam”

The hotel was quite poorly maintained, with several stains on the carpet and a couple of significant dents in the wall. I asked whether there was a nice place to walk, and was informed I should stay inside after dark as the area was a "gay forest." The parking spaces adjacent to the hotel were marked,"Ladies only, " putting even this writer who is open to alternative lifestyles ill at ease.

“Basic but decent hotel”

My initial impression of the hotel service was not good as I waited for a bus only to find there were limited seats and I would have to wait another half-hour for the next shuttle. So I joined two other fellows and we hired a taxi. The hotel was a few minutes drive away, about 8 Euros. The clerk was pleasant and informative. However, I had a hard time finding the elevator as it was not well marked. The room was basic but I slept well. For the price the hotel is a good value relative to other hotels in the airport area. I left early for the airport and had no trouble getting a seat on the shuttle..

“GOOD CHOICE FOR NIGHT NEAR AIRPORT”

VERY NICE BUSINESS STYLE HOTEL IN A PRETTY BUT REMOTE LOCATION. EXCELLENT RESTAURANT.

“Good for one night”

We stayed overnight in the hotel. The shuttle takes about 15 minutes to get from the airport to the hotel. Hotel was clean. However, wireless internet is extra. Breakfast is EUR 21 per person, which is ridiculous. The cafe at the BP gas station next to the hotel works only until 3 PM and doesn't work on weekends at all. So, if you don't have a car, you've got to take a very long walk to find some food.

“NIce hotel, great breakfast.”

The staff was very helpful and had our room ready at 7am when we arrived. They even let us have that day's buffet breakfast for free. THe buffet was wonderful. The room was clean and quiet. A bus stop was near. We were quite satisfied with our stay.

“Not impressed”

There was a group of kids at the end of the hotel where we were situated. They were quite noisy, making our one night undesirable. We just wanted a place close to the airport, with airport shuttle as this was our last night in Amsterdam.
