Pros: Staff were friendly, room clean and comfortable and good breakfast..
Cons: The noise problem
Location: Ideal location for visiting the Heinekin experience, not far from the tram stops.about a 20 minute walk to Dam Square ....
Stayed in room 201 which was overlooking entrance/courtyard. Room was comfortable but a bit noisy from about 6am.....Breakfast was excellent value .

A comfortable Hotel with pleasant and helpful staff in a good location for the canals. The disappointing aspect was that the privilege room we paid extra for had tiles falling off shower cubical wall and there were stains of bathroom wall.

Nice quite hotel, between the Museums & Centre

Posted Nov 4, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: The paintwork in our room was chipped and scratched.
Clean and pleasant hotel in a quite street. Within easy walk of the trams, (of course) the canals and a range of places to eat. Situated between the museum/park district and the city centre giving easy access to both. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Good, quiet location

Posted Oct 29, 2014
Pros: Location.
Cons: No.
Location: Good tram links to central Amsterdam and links to other parts of the city.
Had a recent short break in Amsterdam and stayed at the Arthur Frommer Hotel. Good location - within walking distance of good restaurants and scenic canalside walks. Friendly hotel staff who were most helpful with various requests and recommendations. Hotel had been recommended by friends and family who had previously stayed there.

A comfortable hotel

Posted Oct 26, 2014
Pros: quiet and safe, staff were very friendly
Cons: provide a toaster for toasting own bread - like Novotel do
Location: city canal walks plenty of shops and restaurants
The Frommer is a very comfortable hotel far enough away from the city centre to be quiet and safe but close enough to tram services into the centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful and service was prompt and efficient. A 20 minute stroll from hotel to Central Station is quite pleasant taking in plenty of shops and restaurants along the way.A four day city pass allows unlimited travel on the tram and bus services around the city so one can walk or ride. The hotel lies at the back of the Prinzengracht (canal) which provides a very pleasant circular walk around the city canals. It is virtually impossible to get lost because the whole of the city is built in the form of a cart wheel - all spokes leading into the centre! If one enjoys walking - after all that's what city breaks are for - this is a very desirable hotel. A bit pricey if booking direct but quite reasonable as a package
