This hotel was very comfortable.Posted Mar 14, 2014
Pros: The location and comfort
Cons: The staff could be more helpful
Location: It was good close to amenities and transport
It was a very pleasant stay in a comfortable and well maintained hotel. it is an ideal position for any visitor , close to the centre but not too close to be noisy. The bathroom was excellent as was the room. The WIFI a little slow but worked ok. Having recently stayed at a Novotel in Glasgow where the staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable , I had hoped for a similar level at this hotel and whilst the staff were helpful they did not match those I met at Glasgow. But this said they answered questions though did not go that extra mile.

Nice hotel. Good central location.Posted Mar 12, 2014
Pros: Hotel was within walking distance to most tourist attractions. The area felt safe and was reasonably quiet.
Cons: Bar food limited.
Location: Anne Frank's museum, The Vondlepark, The Brewery- all within short walk. Also plenty of bars, eating places nearby.
Staff were helpful and pleasant. Gave us a map on arriving, marked our location and helped with directions. Our room was comfortable and clean. The shower was great, just the thing after a long day of sightseeing. Although our room was on the 2nd floor overlooking the front entrance, we weren't disturbed by other guests coming and going.

Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Arthur FrommerPosted Mar 10, 2014
Pros: Position, Style,Clean, Friendly
Location: Good Location for museums and City Centre. Good selection of cafes and restaurants neraby.
The hotel is well placed for the Museums and is within a fifteen to twenty minute walk from the centre of the city. Its in a quite street with litlle or no noise at night except for perhaps the return of a late night reveller or two but it certainly isnt a party hotel and is genearlly very peacful .The room my wife and I stayed in was well appointed, very comfortable bed with more than adequate facility's. The breakfast room was very nice with a good rchoice of food which you could keep 'topping up on' as it was self service..The staff at the desk were very polite, spoke excellent English and genearlly very helpful.

Fantastic location, tucked away,Posted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: Location Style Reasonable value
Cons: Towels TINY Noise outside - guests should be requested to be careful and quiet
Location: Museums. Very close - Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Canals - all beautiful and very close
A long weekend break. Hotel very clean and stylish. Kind and efficient staff. Our room was very nice but exceptionally noisy, being on the ground floor and facing the cobbled front-suitcases clattering, guests talking in the 'early hours' all echoed around. Ask for a quieter room. On the very positive side. This is a wonderful part of Amsterdam and the hotel is a perfect base. It is hard to find but ina quite and pretty road near the Princengracht canal.

Great location, beautiful roomPosted Mar 1, 2014
Pros: its location
Cons: see above
Location: easy to walk to the museum area
All good, reception staff friendly and helpful. Left luggage facility very efficient. However, cleaning not brilliant: * we left towels on the floor to be changed, they were just hung up behind the door, leaving my friend's nightgown damp (as that was already hanging behind the door) * glass from which we drank yoghurt was not washed, hence dried on and very messy * washbasin surround not wiped, left stained

Conveniently located character hotelPosted Feb 21, 2014
Pros: Location was perfect for getting around. Able to walk to everything. Although it is part of a "chain" of hotels it felt individual in it's style.
Cons: It was great as it is.
Location: A 5 minutes walk from Heineken museum and major art museums. Eating out is easy, food for all tastes and prices nearby.
The hotel was easy to find and we walked from the Centraal Station through the shopping area to get there. Friendly welcome on arrival. The room was exactly as described and shown on the website. Very comfortable and quiet. The tv had a list of channels and which languages they were in. Great to have BBC2 to catch up on the Winter Olympics in the evening.

Fantastic boutique hotel in excellent locationPosted Jan 8, 2014
Pros: The quality of the design and upkeep of the surroundings, the staff friendliness and great location.
Cons: nothing really.
Location: The location was excellent as it was situated in a lovely suburb with bars and food but within 10 minutes walk or 3 minute tram ride of the centre
We chose the Mercure hotel following an excellent experience with the chain in Venice during the summer. Although part of the Mercure chain it is a boutique hotel and feels very individual with a real focus on customer service. The general ambience was great with incredibly friendly and helpful staff. All public areas were very clean and tidy and extremely nicely designed refelecting the Dutch heritage and the nature of the location. The bedroom was super with great beds and bathrooms supplied with good quality soaps etc. An excellent stay and a credit to the team who run the Albert Frommer We will book this hotel the next time we are in Amsterdam!
