Heart of City Nightlife

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Location is great for access to all. Staff is friendly and accommodating.
Cons: Facility could be spruced up a bit, especially the common areas.
Location: Within walking distance... canal tours, old town (red light district), multiple transportation options, numerous dining and drinking establishments.
A particular disposition is required to stay and enjoy this hotel, which is not recommended for families. Location is in middle of Rembrandt Square. It is convenient to transportation and sightseeing. Many restaurants and bars line the perimeter of the square and adjacent side-streets. During the day, many conveniences and options. At night, this place is "hopping". It's truly an amazing scene to behold until around 12am, then Cinderella's carriage turns into a bit of a pumpkin (especially on the weekend nights). The bar/club scene gets rowdy and often a bit ugly with numerous incidents after midnight. If you need a quiet setting to get some sleep, DO NOT choose this hotel. We did not mind the constant noise (which lasts well beyond 3am) and appreciated the location and staff, who were eager to assist with any request. Facility could use a little sprucing up, but overall is acceptable.

Pleasant hotel

Posted Jul 27, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: The breakfast selection and to make sure the air condition works in the rooms.
I stayed at this hotel not a week ago and it was in a great location and the staff were very helpful. However, the air condition in my room wasn't working and it really made my night uncomfortable. But apart from that its alright. The breakfast isn't anything to write home about, just functional. Its a simple, basic hotel that will do if you plan to spend most of your days and night roaming the beautiful city of Amsterdam.

Brilliantly located on Rembrandt Square, right in the midst of everything and yet my room was nice and quiet at night.

Great location,great hotel&staff

Posted Jul 14, 2014
My 2nd visit to Amsterdam & 2nd stay on Rembrandt Square, stayed at nh Schuller previously which was good but this was my 1st time at nh Caransa & it as just as good if not better. We had twin room, which was very clean & modern, good shower & flat screen tv, comfy beds & spacious. Location wise it's spot on, central to the city, shopping, canals & lively bars & clubs&restaurants everywhere. Would stay again for sure, thoroughly recommend it.

Good Hotel in a great location

Posted Jul 5, 2014
Pros: The location
The hotel is ideally located on a busy square, with plenty of bars serving food and drink. Transport links to the station and attractions couldn't be better as the tram stop is directly outside the hotel. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and there were no problems with the hotel istself.

Nice Hotel very close to all the main attractions

Posted Jun 23, 2014
The hotel is within the square which has everything you could want, Starbucks, Restaurants, bars etc. Very close to all of the main tourist attractions and all within walking distance. The hotel can be noisy due to facing the main square but with the complimentary ear plugs this is okay. Very nice rooms, clean, tea making facilities etc, I couldn't fault it! Courteous staff upon check in/out, kept our bags for the final day and ordered a mini bus for our party back to the airport. Overall a very pleasurable stay.

Excellent Location

Posted Jun 17, 2014
Pros: Staff is helpful, friendly, and patient when explaining directions.
Cons: So maybe this is just a European thing, or a green thing, but while we had clean sheets on our first night, they were not changed during our four days
Location: Everything is close by to this hotel.
This hotel is right in the thick of all the tourist action. Right outside the hotel are pubs, coffee shops (for those interested) and a bus stop ready to take you wherever you want to go. Lots of destinations are easily walkable, but if you're like us our feet were exhausted after our European tour and we used our bus passes to the max.
