Very pleasant hotel

Posted Jul 29, 2015
Pros: Room was bright and quiet.
Cons: The room needs better storage and closets; there was barely enough room for two adults who did not have a lot of stuff
Location: Right down the street from the Rijksmuseum, the hotel is very close to the Concertgebouw, for lovers of classical music
This hotel was in a quiet section of the Museumplein, but very close to many of the sights of Amsterdam. Rooms are light and while not huge, are comfortable. The hotel is very quiet and the staff is efficient and courteous. This is not in an area with a lot of nightlife, but if you are looking for a civilized place that is not in the thick of the tourist district this is a good choice.

Close to the three great museums

Posted Jul 21, 2015
Pros: I chose it because it is close to the three great museums. It is a comfortable place to stay.
Cons: I can think of no improvements. This is a great hotel.
Location: Restaurants, a pharmacy, a dock for canal cruises are all within walking distance.
Check in was fast and friendly, staff was always ready to help and give advice and directions, bed was comfortable with wonderful pillows, room was spacious. This was the perfect hotel for us. It is also near some good restaurants; we ate at Jules (a short walk across the canal) and it was excellent. They have a "surprise menu" and it was fun and a gourmet delight. A great place to dine. There is also a McDonald's not to far away if you don't want the rather expensive breakfast at the hotel; Egg McMuffin and cappuccino is 3 Euros. The Hotel is within walking distance to a dock for canal cruises.

Kurzaufenhalt in Amsterdam in zentraler Lage. Wer gut zu Fuß ist, kann alles sehenswerte erreichen, am Besten die bekannten Museen.

Good value and comfortable hotel, needing oomph

Posted Jul 18, 2015
Pros: location, price and space of room.
Cons: decor, staff culture, extra mile service
Location: excellent location for museum quarter and some really good restaurants and bars
suffers from a culture of "just enough"...breakfast is fine, but hot food in buffet is only fresh at the start and dried up by 10 am. Staff tend to do what's required, but there's no sense that they're happy to be there and serving you.

Adequate hotel close to the museums

Posted Jul 10, 2015
Pros: The proximity to the museums.
Cons: The decor could be improved and the carpet replaced.
Location: Near to the Van Gogh and Rijks museums were the advantages.
The hotel was adequate ,rather dated and could do with a "facelift" The carpet in the hallway on level three was extremely smelly ,as if there had been a flood and it had not been shampooed or replaced.

Great location but older hotel

Posted Jul 8, 2015
Pros: The location was great if you plan to visit museums in the area (Rijks, Von Gogh)
Cons: The rooms need to be updated with newer carpet and removal of a stale smell in the room
The hotel is outdated and the air conditioning did not work very well.

Good hotel

Posted Jul 8, 2015
Good hotel. On the edge of being a little far to walk to most city centre attractions. Rooms were clean, but a little dated and no A/C. Staff was friendly and helpful.
