Pros: Staff friendly
Cons: More choice at breakfast
The staff were very helpful and went out of there way to make our stay relaxing.Room very clean, had everything you needed , shampoo, shower gel etc.Kettle in room with tea and coffee.Have a pillow of your choice on request. Book breakfast the day before and its12euro, cheap compared to the cafes on the street.Would stay there again.

Superb City Centre LocationPosted Mar 5, 2014
Cons: Nothing from our party, who all raved about it.
Location: Very central, an excellent location and close by everything!!
An excellent hotel, who had very helpful staff, very clean and within walking distance of every attraction. We just loved it and would certainly use it again!

NH City Center AmsterdamPosted Mar 2, 2014
Pros: Staff were really helpful at all times
Location: Try visiting the Dutch resistance museum its not well advertised but makes you realise how much the Dutch People had think during occupation
The hotel was very clean and the staff were welcoming. The location was excellent next to the canal. we arrived early and the staff kept our baggage until we could access our room, the luggage was in a secure room. There are excellent restaurants opposite the hotel that are value for money. Try and book a room on the 5th floor that's the top floor as it is very busy as city centre hotels are that means the noise is kept to a minimum we had 547 at the back nice and quiet. Breakfast is 20 euros and the hotel restaurant is next door and lowest set menu is 35 euros, there are plenty of places to eat around.! Within 500m there is a supermarket that you can purchase anything you may require Albert Hejn I think it was called. We had a truly excellent holiday Feb 2014 please enjoy the city like we did.

Rather disappointingPosted Feb 27, 2014
Pros: The cable tv, the tea making facility and ice cube machine available the lift foyer.
Cons: Well, where shall I start??
Location: Good location. Amsterdam is small enough to walk to many sights, shops, restaurants.
The first room I was given did not have a view at all, despite their claims of either a street or canal view - "The NH City Centre Amsterdam hotel is comprised of 209 comfortable guest rooms, all of which feature impressive views of downtown Amsterdam or the Singel Canal." It felt depressing and dark. After making a polite complain, I was shown a nicer room with a street view and daylight coming through the window. Why wasn't I offered this room in the first place?? Their website says that there is a bathtub, but it only had a shower. No bathrobes or slippers were found in the room either. The wifi was not working properly all the 3 days I was there. The room was not soundproofed as it claims - the noise from a group of party goers next door room was extremely loud and went late into the morning. The room itself was fairly clean though can benefit from a bit of upgrading.

Nice hotel with good location but terrible WiFiPosted Feb 25, 2014
Hotel was fine in a reasonably central location but WiFi kept dropping out and we booked a tour through the hotel that was supposed to be discounted but we ended being overcharged

Great (budget) central hotelPosted Feb 25, 2014
This was a great hotel, close to the centre, exhibits, restaurants and bars but really quiet in the evening. The room was a little tired but the staff were very friendly and accommodating in requests.

Very nice hotel in the centre of AmsterdamPosted Feb 22, 2014
Pros: Functionality and hot shower!
Cons: Rooms are a bit out of date and need repainting and refurbishing, but it doesn't have an impact on the accommodation which was lovely in any way.
Location: Spui square, Amsterdam Museum, The Body Worlds, Amstelkrieg, Flower market, Royal Palace, Madame Tussaud, Damrak, many cafés
Very lovely stay at the corner of Spui next to many book stores and cafe hoppe (from 1670!). The hotel met all of our expectations and even more. We were party of 3, family with a little boy. It is a budget hotel so you get exactly what you have paid for, functionality & value for money. Bathroom facilities were excellent with all the necessary toiletries and towels and shower after long day and many walks was a pleasure. The tea & coffee facilities in the room has been a nice bonus. We stayed in room no. 110. Highly recommended if you don't want to spend too much.

CentralPosted Feb 22, 2014
Hotel is very central. Unfortunately we were half an hour late checking in, only after I complained were we given an upgrade to a canal view. Had to return to reception twice and key not working so actually didn't get into room until 55 minutes after checking in time. Hairdryer worked for two minutes then needed a ten minute break. Room freezing.
