Great location, ideal for a short stay.Posted Jul 10, 2014
Pros: The location. Close to Central Station and within easy walking distance of many of Amsterdam's attractions.
Cons: The rooms need to be up-dated.
Really friendly and helpful staff at this clean but somewhat jaded hotel.

Hotel krasnapolskyPosted Jun 23, 2014
Stayed at the krasnapolsky as I have been to amsterdam many times and had seen the hotel is placed right in the centre perfect for sightseeing on foot, have stayed at nh hotels before and never had a concern, yes the rooms are small but in the centre of dam you don't expect anything else! The hotel was what I expected from a nh property clean well presented with good facilities! So yes I would recommend this hotel to family and friends

Central Hotel, but noisyPosted Jun 12, 2014
Pros: For a 5 star hotel it is looking a bit tired. I would rate it as 4 star and not 5.
Cons: Temperature of cooked breakfast
Location: Central. Canal cruises, Anne Frank house, plus other museums. Perhaps a bit too busy. The streets around the hotel were strewn with litter.
Disappointed in the breakfast. Although a good selection, the so called hot selection was not and was at best luke warm. There are too many stag and hen parties taking place. We would NOT visit this city again.

Lovely hotel and a great locationPosted Jun 5, 2014
Had a great holiday, the hotel lived up to expectations in every way. The Winter Garden breakfast room was superb and the food was excellent. Would have liked to have dined at the hotel as well, but only one restaurant open for dinner which was a bit expensive.

Great hotelPosted Jun 2, 2014
Very pleasant stay although we couldn't regulate the air con so the room was incredibly warm at all times. We had a large room facing Dam Square but it was quite dark and particularly noisy outside at all times during the day and night.

The hotel right at Dam SquarePosted May 30, 2014
Pros: It a royal place. Big spacy rooms. Friendly staff.
Cons: No space for improvement since it is a perfect place for tourist. The only improvement I feel is required is the air conditioning.
Location: Just right at Dam Square. Just five mins walk to the famous Red Light District. Major attractions just walking distance. Super market hardly 5 mins
The hotel is the best property at the dam saquare the most central place of Amsterdam. It is walking distance from Amsterdam central station. One of the oldest Hotel ,spacy and vast but so well maintained. The hotel staff are thorough professionals. The checkin took just 5 mins and I was guided to the room.

City Centre hotel on main square.Posted May 25, 2014
Pros: Central location and easy access to tourist attractions.
Location: Stroll along canals, pick up canal tours near the station, visit museums and galleries, churches and old ships. Even the red light district.
The hotel is very well placed for exploring the old city and canals. Easy walking distance from the train station. We stayed in a newish part of the building. The room was large and comfortable. Another resident commented that the hotel was trying to regain its former glory. The function rooms seemed busy but this did not detract from our enjoyment. We did not eat in the hotel as there any many other less expensive restaurants nearby. The price did not include city taxes. I'm waitng to discover how much as a power cut prevented normal booking out. It must be a rare event because it made the news!
