“Good and no extra charge”

There is late-check out options, which you could check out at 5pm without extra charge. It is good for me! The WIfi could be used in lobby without extra charge, which is good for me too!

“Hotel and staff are terrific!”

Great hotel and wonderful staff. Great location close to tramlines to enable us to visit all the interesting Amsterdam sights and museums. We had a marvelous stay thanks to the hotel and others.

“Great location, comfortable beds, nice bathrooms”

I was surprised by the quality of the rooms of this 3 star hotel. The bathrooms were updated with nice amenities, the room was larger than expected, and the bed very comfortable. We had a nice view of Amsterdam (front side of hotel). All employees were helpful and knowledgeable. The location on Rembrandtplein puts you in the center of attractions and nightlife. You can take a 5-min tram from central station, or walk in about 20 minutes. I will stay there again.

“Great find”

The staff was helpful and the room was larger than the standard European cracker box. The bathroom was huge by European standards. Since the hotel is right on Rembrantsplein, the noise from the street goes on till all hours, but the view made it worth it.

“A Great Hotel”

This hotel was in a perfect location to everything! I walked to all of the major attractions in a short time and using a simple map. Everything is a lot closer than it appears on a map. The hotel itself is located on Rembrandtplein, a small square filled with stores, places to eat and people to watch. The hotel restaurant was good, with a limited menu but I ate dinner there twice and had the breakfast buffet twice. It was a bit pricey for breakfast 16 euro, but it had everything from fruit to eggs and cereal. I had a single room and while small, as all European rooms are, it was perfect and had windows that opened up onto the square where I could see the huge statue of Rembrandt. It does get noisy at night as others have stated, but it is a great hotel to stay at because it is safe, clean and in a great location. I am returning in February and plan to stay there again.

“close to perfect”

Although I had booked a single room I got a spacious double. It is a historic hotel, so the hallways can be a bit small and the rooms might have an idiosyncratic layout. In my eyes, location is one of the key qualities of a hotel, and the Schiller on Rembrandtplein is located in a good position. It is walking distance to the three major museums (about 15 minutes very pleasant walk) and in the other direction towards the Railroad Station and city center as well. Rembrandtplein is a nice city square with a number of restaurants and bars (and "coffeeshops") directly on it or in the adjoining streets, but it is not as touristy and overrun as other parts of the city. Two tram lines stop in the square in front of the hotel and bring you directly to the RR station or to the shopping district and other attractions in the center.

“Quite wonderful”

Lovely view, it was loud all night long. They do provide ear plugs, but if that is a bother I suggest requesting a room facing away from the street.

“Perfect”

First of all, the tram stop right in front of the hotel. There's a coffee shop next door, its in the middle of Rembrandtplein surrounded by restaurants and cafe. Great great great location. Friendly staff. Our room 404 had a view towards the square. We didnt mind the noise at all. What noise? We're city girls so the noise was more comforting than anything. Probably older people who live in the suburbs cant take the noise. Just sayin. I loved our little nook by the window where u can sit and look out into the square before going to sleep. We also loved the decor in the lobby. Downside is we dont have wifi, which is i guess the norm in europe. But they do have it in the lobby which was not too bad at all. Had no complaints, we had a great stay. Will definitely go back to this same hotel when i go back to amsterdam. I will not dare stay anywhere else. LOVE IT!

“Great location and hotel. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.”

This hotel location is amazing. Right on Rembrandt square. The noise level may bother some so ask for a back room off the square. You won't hear a thing in the rooms not facing the square. I stayed in one looking over the square and one room that was on the other side of the hall. Both were excellent. When you book a double and arrive on your own, the room will be small but very adequate. The staff is very helpful. The options on the square are endless and you are short walks to anything you want to see in a short stay in Amsterdam. I couldn't ask for a better stay and would return in a heartbeat.

Area:

Canal Ring, Amsterdam, Netherlands: The classic Amsterdam image of stately canals, the Canal Loop is principally the Herengracht and Keizersgracht, lined with gracious tall 17th and 18th-century houses. Some of these are now museums, most notably the eccentric Kattenkabinet. The Amstel is a more down-to-earth waterway, lined with houseboats and famous for its classic much–photographed Magere Brug (Skinny Bridge). The floating Flower Market is also a much-loved canal feature.
