Convenient and close to the AirportPosted Jul 21, 2014
Cons: More tourist guide information should be available at the reception.
The facilities were good and the staff helpful. Tram and train station close by and a short 10 min ride into the city centre.

A little far, but comfortable and friendlyPosted Jun 14, 2014
Pros: Staff, breakfast, beds
Cons: It could use some new carpet, but it's not really a big deal.
Location: There's nothing to do nearby. There aren't even any restaurants. It's basically just a business park and the university. Luckily, there's a station.
I had business on the side of town, so I stayed at Novotel, which was nearby. If I were going just for fun, I would have stayed closer to the city center. That being said, it was very easy to get into town, using the nearby metro (#50 and #51 lines) and tram (#4 line) stations. With a chipcard, you can ride either the metro or the tram, depending on your destination. The metro station is also a stop for the full-size train line (Sprinter) that connects directly to the airport. This Novotel (there is another closer to the airport) does not have a free shuttle, but it's an 11-minute train ride costing about €4 to the Amsterdam RAI stop just outside the hotel, so it's actually more convenient than a shuttle, since there are more times. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful, and they all speak perfect English. The room was spacious, bright, and clean, although the carpet was looking a little shabby. The bed was excellent. The shower was fine. Breakfast is expensive (€22.50), but worth it. The omelets the omelet lady made for me each day made me weak in the knees, and the coffee was perfect. There were about one million kinds of bread to choose from, as well as cold cuts, fruit, granola, ham, bacon, sausage... All delicious. One of the best hotel breakfast buffets I've ever been to. If you don't feel like a big (expensive) breakfast, they also have a little coffee-and-pastry counter in the lobby. Overall, I had a wonderful stay, despite the distance from town.

Excellent ServicePosted Jun 10, 2014
Pros: Staff were amazing!
Location: Really good location, just 10mins on the train from Schiphol airport to Amsterdam RAI and a 5 min walk from RAI to the hotel.
We called ahead to request our two rooms to be close by and for check in to be available at 10am, the staff were so good they gave us adjoining rooms, the rooms were available when we reached the hotel, and our overall service was just superb! - we really enjoyed our stay and the hotel definately made our Hen weekend a success!! Thank you very much! Reena Gupta-C

Excellent hotel away from the crowds.Posted Jun 10, 2014
Pros: Staff and the overall room facilities.
Cons: Breakfast not cheap.
Location: Even though the hotel is not close to the central station there are excellent tram and train services just 5 minutes walk from the hotel.
A very comfortable hotel with great staff. As well as the normal breakfast room there is a handy coffee shop selling snacks and drinks.

Nice hotel in a good location just outside of cityPosted May 15, 2014
Pros: See above
Cons: Room needed a bit of a refresh
Location: As above
Nice hotel in a good location re Rai station. Easy to find and good tram links to the centre. Staff were friendly and entrance area, restaurant are all in good condition. Room looked a bit in need of a refresh but everything worked, so no real issues. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice and omelette bar was a nice touch. Amsterdam was ok, didn't have much in the way of 'big ticket' items to see, so doesn't come up to the likes of Paris, Rome, Venice etc, but still pleasant enough for a couple of days.

Nice hotel. Close to local transport and airportPosted May 13, 2014
Good hotel. Although it was outside city centre, local transport was only 3 mins walk away. You could easily travel to city via tram, metro or in train from the hotel. Friendly staff gave all guidance needed.

Modern hotel, near tram, train and MetroPosted May 13, 2014
Pros: At busy times this hotel represents better value than the small hotels near the centre.
This is as you would expect from a Novotel - clean, modern and convenient. Easy access to trams, etc. but 30 minutes or more from the centres.
