“Very impressed”

While the hotel is near the airport it is a bit out of the way from central Amsterdam. However, they do have good shuttle service to the airport where you can get a train to anywhere in the city. The hotel has all the amenities that you need. The rooms are very clean, the area is quite and the staff couldn't be more helpful. It is also a lot cheaper than a down town hotel. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it.

“Excellent hotel, distant location”

I stayed her for 4 nights while visiting Amsterdam . This hotel is an excellent accommodation but is quite far from the city of Amsterdam. To get to the city, you must take the free hotel shuttle to the airport and then take the train to town. The airport shuttles run every 30 minutes and were very reliable. The hotel is the only place around it. There are no stores, restaurants, bars etc. You are forced to dine in the hotel restaurant if youre hungry or take the commute to the airport to eat or shop. The hotel breakfast is very pricey at 20 euro. The dinner portions are small and expensive as well. The are no refrigerators in the room to store your own drinks. The room itself was furnished nicely and was kept quite clean. Stay here if you don't mind budgeting for expensive meals and have a car to commute if necessary.

“Lovely Hotel”

We were upgraded to an executive suite, and the room was wonderful. Unfortunately we were only able to eat dinner in the bar, as the restaurant was not available to all guests, and the parking charge of 20 euro for an overnight (less than 12 hours!) stay was a little excessive. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

“Good price but far from the center”

The location was convenient to me because I was spending only one night in Amsterdam and wanted some place next to the airport. For a touristy trip the location can be a problem. On the other hand, since it is a bit far from the city center it offers comfort for a more reasonable price.

“Great staff!”

After we checked out I realized that I had left my jacket in our hotel room. When we got back home I called the hotel to see if they had found my jacket. It took a day or two but they did find my jacket and mailed it to me in the U.S.! All of the staff at this hotel were very friendly and helpful. It's a big hotel, but the staff gets an A+ for hospitality!

“Great place to catch an early morning flight”

I had an early flight to catch and stayed the night. The hotel is modern, quiet and clean. Importantly it provides free shuttle to Schiphol. The hotel is located in an industrial district. There is no much to do except going to the airport.

“A definite stay for Business Travellers”

The hotel's airport shuttle picked me up at 23.00 from Schippol Airport sharp on time and the free service runs like a swiss watch. Very convenient and friendly staff. The check in was efficient and you become immediately a Carlson member at the hotel reception. I was given a room at -1 level, a bit odd as one expects to go up to upper floors but I taught for a cheap rate room I had booked on Expedia, what the heck. The room was very small and lacked some basic amenities for a 4 star hotel standards, such as toileteries, slippers etc. The morning was dreadful as I realized that my room was at just the below floor of the breakfast room and i had a loud symphonie of dragging chairs. I also realized that my bed had a big black paint stain. The receptionist (Katia) answered my complaint call very efficiently and offered me an alternative executive room which of course was perfect! So if available, try to get an Exacutive Room, the difference of price is worth every penny. I would definitely stay here as commuting by train from Schippol is very fast and convenient.

“connection makes up for distance”

When I stayed here the hotel was undergoing refurbishment. When that is done it will probably be much busier, but I got to enjoy the (small) gym to myself, and a quite time. One of the best things is that the number 1 tram is a scenic 10 min walk away, and that goes right to the centre of town (passing Rembrant Park on the way). That makes up for being on the edge of town. Watch out for the annoying 'tourist tax' on the way out.

“Fine but without atmosphere”

This is a largish (400-room?) hotel which claims to be an airport hotel. However, it's several kilometres away, which is not too convenient, even if they provide a free shuttle bus (stand A9 if you're at the airport, on the hour and half-hour). The surrounding area is a business park, nice enough but not exactly where you'd take a stroll, although there is (poor pedestrian) access to a tram stop. Although everything was new and clean, there wasn't really any atmosphere, so it was OK for a conference but perhaps not somewhere one would choose as a base to explore Amsterdam as a tourist.
