“Great Hotel, but...”
I loved the hotel for its great location and outstanding staff. My only complaint is the lower rate rooms have very stiff and uncomfortable mattresses and the pillows were like a piece of 3" foam rubber. Last time I upgraded to a suite and each of those were upgraded. Next time, and there will be a next time, I'm getting a suite! Great hotel otherwise!!

“Junior suite spacious/comfortable in great location”
We loved the location and our bright/large junior suite. The hotel is close to everything/tram stops right across the street or 1 block away. It is also very close to the Central station. The room was large and spacious. The bed was a giant Eastern King bed - one of best beds I slept on. The room was bright, large and airy. The furniture/decor was cheery. We received complimentary water/cholates every day, and on the first date, we also received a complimentary fruit platter. The coffee maker was also nice. An added bonus was that there was no hotel charges for making local toll free calls (for example, ATT local number). The wake up call was automated and easy to program (remember to use military time 1400 for 2pm). The room was slightly noisy - we could faintly hear the tram noises and the noise from a fair/carnival next street. We could not hear noises from our neighbors. We will definitely return to this hotel next time we are in Amsterdam!!!
“Great Locale, service w/ a smile”
Definitely a good hotel....and I am picky! I had a situation where my room key did not work for me. The people at the hotel said that the person who could fix it was not in on weekends. They personally escorted me to my room every time! I never had to wait. The rooms were very comfortable, including the beds, and the service was great. They were young and full of energy. I will be back.
“A pleasant stay”
The Swissotel was a very pleasant stay with excellent customer service. The room service meals and breakfast selection was most memorable. The staff were always friendly and highly accommodating to our needs. We are likely to stay there again on our next visit to Amsterdam. It also has an impressive facade at a historic location.
“Choose This Hotel!!!”
Never being to Europe, let alone Amsterdam, I wasn't sure which hotel to choose. But when I arrived here, I knew right away it was the perfect place. The location is absolutely excellent. Being right next to Dam Square allows easy use of the public transportation as well as having the conveinence of walking anywhere. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the rooms are very clean and comfortable, and all types of food are nearby. The restaurant attached to the hotel is great for breakfast, midday snacks, or coffee. When I go back, I'll be sure to stay here again...And if you choose this hotel, you will not regret it.
“Perfect location”
The hotel is only 3 to 4 blocks from the Central Station. An easy stroll even pulling a wheeled suitcase. We arrived at 10:30 am and they checked us into our room immediately rather then make us wait until 2:00pm. Less then 1/2 block from Dam Square where there is always something happening. We didn't partake of the breakfast as 20 euro seemed fairly spendy with several good places to eat close by for less then 10 euro. Great hotel!
“Excellent hotel”
Staff was very helpful. Excellent location with a view of Dam Square. Large room and large bed - more than enough room for two people. Good restaurant. Red light is two blocks away, in addition to othe attractions.
“Good Hotel in perfect location”
We spent two nights in this hotel, which gave us a very good impression---very comfortable bed, very convinient businessoffice, very close to the main station, and just at Dam square and the tram stop to the musuems is just in front of the hotel! even with expresso coffee maker in the room! Just as other European hotels, the room is not spacious. Though it's just beside the shopping street, it's very quiet in the room! I will choose this hotel again if I go to Amsterdam next time!

Dam Square - Central Station, Amsterdam, Netherlands: The bustling heart of Amsterdam, this district attracts hordes of visitors teeming from Centraal Station to Dam Square and its beautiful Nieuwe Kerk (14th-century). The oldest part of town, Oude Zijde, is famous for its Red Light District, but the University and the docks bring a different kind of colour and buzz to the narrow streets. Dont miss the Oude Kerk, the Amstelkring Museum or the paintings in the Amsterdams Historisch Museum.
