Amsterdam livingPosted Aug 22, 2013
Pros: Great breakfast each morning and outgoing, friendly yet professional staff were best features. Very much appreciated being on first floor.
Cons: Steel clothes closet in our room was out of character with rest of furnishings but it did the job.
Hotel sits right on the Amstel river, the waterway after which Amsterdam is named. Surrounding neighborhood gives the feel of bing right at home. Neighborhood bars and eateries ar in walking distance as is public transportation. Amsterdam s famous Carre theater is next door and the national ballet in walking distance. A great place from which to explore the rest of the city or sit on bench in the sun on the river and watch the canal boats cruise by or read a book.

Old and small Hotel but overlooking to CanalPosted Aug 11, 2013
Pros: Hotel Staff hospitality + Hotel view (to Canal)
Cons: All furniture in the room (and adding fridge into the room) + providing an elevator
Location: location is good, overlooking to the Canal. not long walking to the nearest train station and boat station.
The Hotel is old and small and there is no elevator! And there is no one to help you carry your baggage; even though I was lucky that the reception helped me (only at the arrival day). The hotel staff especially the young receptionist is very helpful and supportive for us to learn about the city and available facilities and attractions around the city. The breakfast is also good enough.

bridge hotel was in a very convenent location, did not realize when it said sky light, that that was the only window in the room, when went back had a room with windows. The breakfast was very good and room was nice but the entry way floor is cracked and the step was loose- needs some repairs, would recommend at the price

Great locationPosted Jun 1, 2013
Pros: Great location, room was very light and airy with canal view (not all rooms have canal view).
Location: On the Amstel River, near the 'Skinny Bridge', within walking distance of most city centre attractions, also near 2 Metro stations and close to tram.
Excellent location, bright room with modern decor. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Good locationPosted Apr 7, 2013
Good, apart from the weird Dutch curtains that let plenty of light through - not the thing if you don't want to wake up early after a late night...

Perfect location, good breakfast spreadPosted Apr 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
The location of the hotel is very nice. It is right next to the Carre theater with a wide canal in front. The 'Skinny Bridge' is also close by,so is the Hermitage museum which exhibited Van Gogh paintings while we were there. It is also about 10 mins walk from both Waterlooplein and Weesperplein tram stops. The room we got was spacious, so was the bath room. The decor of the room was modern, no carpet and glass doors on one wall which opened onto an open space which had no view. We did not use the outdoor space anyway since it was awfully cold. The room was very clean and neat everyday when we arrived in the evening. But the best part was probably the breakfast. There were fresh fruits, cereal, cheese, ham, boiled eggs, bread of 3 kinds, yogurt, juice, coffee, tea, milk and all sorts of jams and spreads. There was a toaster where one could toast the bread. It was all upto an individual what/ how much he/she wanted to eat. The service was very good with the tables being cleared up quickly and refills of the items were fast. The break fast room was quite big,so noone had to wait for a table. All in all, the stay was worth the money :-)

Great place to stayPosted Dec 9, 2012
This is a really nice hotel in a quiet location on the east side of Amsterdam but within easy walking distance of pretty much everything. It's also only about four minutes to the nearest metro/tram stop. The furnishings are modern and stylish, it is very clean, and the breakfast is great! It was cold and snowy when we were there but the rooms were warm and cosy. Staff were friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay there again.
