“Wonderful hotel!”

Location is excellent: it's in the outskirts of Amsterdam but a very convenient bus at the door will take you to downtown Amsterdam all day long. Room and bathroom very good. Breakfast excellent as well the food at the restaurant. Staff helpful. Certainly will stay again.

“Great Value Near Amsterdam”

After traveling across the Atlantic, this was our first stop in Europe. The room was roomy, comfortable, and clean. Being about 20 minutes outside the heart of Amsterdam, it was quiet and charming. After resting up, it was fast and easy to head into the quaint, coastal town of Volendam or back into Amsterdam via a bus just outside the hotel. The breakfast was great! Delicious and a good value. Not only do we recommend this hotel, but we will use it again on our next visit.

“An ideal place to stay just outside of Amsterdam”

If you are visiting Amsterdam by car, consider this hotel as a place to stay. Alternatively there is a frequent bus service. It is approximately 20 minutes from Amsterdam, but far enough in the country to get away from the city. Nearby is the pretty town of Edam and the coastel town of Volendam (3ks each)from where you can catch a frequent ferry to the quaint island of Maarken. The hotel is very clean, the staff are very helpful, the pool is extraordinarily clean and the rooms and bathrooms spotless. We had an absolutely memorable weekend.

“Good Hotel”

A really popular hotel with the locals which is always a good sign,the room was clean and tidy and the balcony overlooked the small lake although the breeding birds were noisy! to the front, the swimming pool was great. negatives: High price for meals( more to do with the £ to euro rate) high charging for use of sauna and gym was disappointing as the only thing you get free is the swimming pool Positives: 7euros return to central amsterdam on arriva bus that stops every 30mins outside the hotel clean and tidy huge car park isolated postion made it quite no traffic noise and a good nights sleep, great location to be on the road quickly to anywhere The meal we had in the hotel was excellent the staff were helpful and friendly enough the swimming pool was empty most times we went overall a great hotel if you can get a good price

“Great For HoneyMoon or Leisure”

The Van Der Valk is located in Volendam, about 20 minutes from Central Amsterdam. We especially loved the Van Der Valk since it is in the country. It was great to experinece the high life of Amsterdam then relax in the country of Volendam. The scenery outside of our room from the balcony was breathe taking with the sunset across the pond and the quiet chatter of the ducks and swans. The padio is great for a relaxing lunch or dinner with beautiful flowers, great service and excellent food. The prices of the Restaurant within the Van Der Valk were reasonable and well worth the price. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a bus stop right across the street and you can purchase bus tickets from the Front Desk. The beds were some of the most comfortable I have ever slept in anywhere and the rooms were tip top in cleaniliness. I highly recommend the food, the area and the great comfort of the Van Der Valk to any one, especially couples. It was romantic and very pleasant.

“Very comfortable hotel”

Had one night at the Van Der Valk and found it to be extremely comfortable both in room size and decor. The en suite facilities were probably among the best I had come across in a hotel with marble finishes, underfloor heating and an enormous modern glass and marble shower unit. Location close to Volendam but far enough out to be away from the crowds. Definately worth a visit.

“Lovely hotel away from the hustle and bustle.”

Loved this hotel. Made our weekend even more wonderful. We went to Holland for the weekend to see the tulips and some other sites. Hotel was reasonably close to Keukenhof if you had a car, which we did. We were also able to explore two different beaches on the North Sea, go into Amsterdam, walk along the harbor near the hotel and see the windmills. Breakfast was great-scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, fried eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal, yogurt, fresh squeezed orange juice and an assortment of pastries. Hotel is located on the highway but the rooms were sound proof. There was a cheese factory next door and our room had a view of a small lake and some sheep. Would definitely stay again!

“Awesome stay”

Very impressed, ample space, very cleaned, reasonable breakfast price with great choices. Didnt try the Rest. Bus stop to Amsterdam close by but expensive about 10 E per person is better to use the park and ride station is only 8 dollars regardless of total people. Voledam villages is only 3 Km away next to a cheese and shoes factory.
