“Great Location for Cultural Visit”
This is a fantastic option for people traveling on a budget and looking for a safe, centrally located place to sleep. Virtually next door to the Heineken Brewery, there is a departure point across the street for boat tours, the best museums are walking distance or a short tram ride away, there are plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars within a block or two, as well as the Albert Cuijp market which has fresh food, clothes, treats and much more. This hotel has a sister hotel which is a couple of doors down the street. It is shabbier, feels less safe and the stairwell is not completely sealed off, which is concerning, if you are traveling with children. If they try to relocate you down the street, insist that you booked with Vivaldi because of the safety and the manned reception 24 hours a day. The staff are Chinese, speak excellent English and are very solution oriented if you are respectful and give them an opportunity to strategize. Because the hotel has quadruple rooms, groups of young people frequent the place. It attracts a wholesome, international crowd. This a great place to stay if you are looking to experience the best that an 800 year old city has to offer and you are happy to steer clear of the seedier parts of town.
