Simply patheticPosted Sep 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed for 6 days to attend the IBC in Amsterdam. - The room was terrible, dirty, damp and the roof had also broken. - The restroom was also small to be wet all the time including the room. - There was nearly space for clothes. - There was no iron and if you request one you had to pay 20 euros as. - The Tv set never worked during the stay and hotel's personel never solved the problem. - Despite being 3 in the room we got a 1 single key with no possibility to get another one. The location is bad, far from the metro station to connect to the RAI station (5 blocks) and also far from the tram station (3 blocks). It took at least 20-30 minutes travel to the historical center. The only descent thing was the breakfast service if you are willing to pay 10 euros per person each time.

We stayed for 3 nights and the staff were all very friendly and helpful at all hours, the cleaner couldn't wait to get in and tidy our room. They had 24 hour food service in which they cooked for you from scratch, which was handy because it rained the whole time we were there. The room was clean and comfortable and larger then we expected, the only complaint we had was that the ceilings were quite thin and we could hear the above room quite loudly every time the showered or flushed the toilet. The surroundings of the hotel weren't the best, but there was a supermarket on one side and the tram stop was a 10 minute walk which took you all through Amsterdam center.

Pretty good.Posted Sep 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
Not bad stay. Door handle was falling off and TV didn't work when 1st arriving. Although someone came to fix them, they didn't and the following morning got moved to a different room. Not bad service.

Great value.Posted Sep 13, 2013
Pros: Friendly staff
Really enjoyed the stay. Comfortable room, very helpful staff and although it is a little way out of town the number 2 tram got us into the centre quickly enough. We even walked to the Rijksmuseum, taking our time, visiting coffee shops. A pleasant way to spend a morning.

Cheap hotel, very backstreet and changed name!Posted Sep 12, 2013
Pros: The garden area outside our rooms was nice, and the bar was pleasant - there was a pool table and it was not too expensive.
Cons: The stained walls in the room and the service. Would have been nice to know about the hotel name change as well!
Location: The location was a bit scary at night, but only a short tram ride away from the centre which was awesome.
The hotel itself wasn't too bad, there was a nice outside area and the bar was pleasant. The area it is situated in wasn't too nice though, it was a bit scary at night and quite run down - you have to travel on the tram to go out, only took a few minutes and was not very expensive. The hotel has recently changed it's name from HEM hotel to West Side Inn, which no-one seemed aware of. There is a cheap shuttle bus that runs from the airport to the hotel, which provided a very good service but no-one in the airport had heard of West Side Inn! We had to google it in the airport internet cafe to find out the location and we realised that the signs in the airports had not been updated and the staff were unaware of the name change. I found the staff at the hotel particularly unhelpful as we were not informed of any curfew, and the gates to the hotel were locked at 10pm. When we pressed the buzzer to the reception, which was staffed 24 hours a day we were ignored and had to climb under the gate to get in. The receptionist seemed to take no notice of this either. The room was not very clean, the walls could have done with being painted as they had sick stains on them. Beds were quite comfortable though and the room did come with a TV. There was a nice garden area inside the hotel outside our room with benches and carpet designed to look like grass.

Clean. comfortable and reasonably priced.Posted Sep 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
Clean rooms and bathroom, with comfy beds and a fan/AC available for the warmer days. The hotel staff are friendly and there's a nice bar. Because it's in a quiet neighbourhood it feels a bit run down when walking back from the tram/metro at night but not unsafe. The big upside is a lack of noise when you try to get to sleep! Tram and metro stops are a short walk away and connect the hotel really well to the city centre (and various nice squares and restaurant hubs en route) as well as the wider transport system.

Nice hotelPosted Sep 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
Nice hotel to stay with tram station only 500m away. Also there us a shopping complex 500m away. Just that the rooms does not have micro-wave or heating kettle and hotel charges 1 Euro for hot cup of water and 0.5 Euro for ice-cubes (even if you need it for first-aid). Also the hotel adminstration is punctual about check-in check-out timing. We arrived at hotel by 11AM, and had to wait till 2 PM for check-in. Also, observed hotel staff reminding guests for check-out from 11:30 AM itself.
