Average hotel-limited staff and answers.

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: Cost was reasonable.
Cons: Hotel needed work, and more trained and knowledgeable staff for services offered.
Location: Location was within 15 minutes of Amsterdam center and less to Ann Frank's home via transit system which was very reasonable in cost versus taxis.
Hotel is average. Appeared clean, but not kept up, needed work, and staff were not available to answer questions. One staff said breakfast was included in cost so we had breakfast each morning, and at checkout they charged us $43 for breakfasts. Upon inquiring about charge, they told us the staff member was wrong in telling us it was included and they had to charge us anyway. We discussed further until they finally removed the charges, but their argument was that we should not have believed the staff member's answer. Hotel is one block from the transite system which was very good, and the multiple day passes save us a great deal over taxis. We could get to the center of town within 15 minutes, and to Ann Frank's home in less than that.

Never again...

Pros: Jose the front desk was fantastic.
Cons: Absolutely everything! Cannot believe this kind of hotel with this amount of mould and uncleanliness can continue to run.
Location: Close to tram but definitely better hotels in the inner city.
Now I'm not one to complain unless there is a valid reason. Upon arrival to the hotel we were greeted by a staff member. Went to our room and everything seemed great, clean decent room. Air con definitely DOESN'T work however. Big whoop can deal with that. Once going to sleep however I roll over, only to be completely cut on the leg by a sewing needle lodged into the bed! At this point it is 1030pm. My partner and I proceed to the front desk to inform staff of the issue and my bleeding leg. Jose at the front desk was fantastic at sorting the issue and did offer a room change however it was one without windows which we did not want. He did send a worker to inspect th bed and found no more. However the following morning after Jose had given us complimentary breakfast for our stay, we were greeted by an unprofessional, rude, condescending staff member who did not have the time or care to give us what was stated after THEIR mistake. I would not recommend staying at this hotel at all. Not even if desperate. If it hadn't have been so late and unable find suitable accommodation after the needle incident we would have been out of there. I do hope the management read this and speak to the member of staff that was on the front desk of the morning of the 3rd of July. He was absolutely appalling and I can gauruntee I was not the only guest that thought so....

Disappointed overall

Posted Jun 29, 2014
I stayed 3 nights with my family and we were all unsatisfied with this hotel. Here's a summary: Pros: Located in a quiet neighbourhood, customer service is fine, take tram #2 to downtown area takes 15-20 mins Cons: Ceiling had mould, no room ventilation control, a lot of noise (could hear when people were taking a shower or flushing the toilet, door was cracked, bathroom door handle came off, too much light entering room when sleeping I would not recommend staying here.

Quite far from the rest of town, not a very safe area. was accosted by a strange fellow for money as we were walking toward the tram. Shower was very uncomfortable and toilet did not have a toilet seat when we checked in. Had to go to reception to get them to fix. price was good, but only worth if you are not exploring the city centre too much

Comfortable and Affordable

The front desk was very, very helpful and overall this was a comfortable and affordable option. You must be willing to travel a little to get into town though. It's a 15-20min tram ride over or you can take the metro which is an 8-10 min walk from the hotel. Overall, this was a good price with good service.

Disappointing experience

Posted May 22, 2014
Pros: That I did stayed there only one night.
Cons: A lot, the rooms apparently need upgrade
Location: Location was convenient for me.
Hotel on the pictures by the website looks nice but the reality is cry far different. Reception desk is one table. Hotel room was a decent size, bed setting was bizzare - middle layer was the highest. The room did stink by mould, wardrobe with no doors, bathroom ceiling moulded as well.
