“Nice Hotel, but a little hard to find”

This is a brand-new hotel which opened in June '09. I stayed in July, and they were still tying up some loose ends, but everything was just fine. Their website says the tram stops in front of the hotel, but actually you have to walk around a long block and under the Ring road to get there. It is convenient to the rail station; in fact after I learned the lay of the land I walked to the station without using the tram, even with my suitcase on the last day. If you just wanted to go into Amsterdam, the tram was very convenient.

“No doubt - Stay here!!”

This was our first European trip. Everything was relied on internet reviews and maps. We took the wrong train from the airport. We were suppose to get off close to the hotel but instead went to Amsterdam Central. We were lost in there for a good hour trying to get back to the right route. We managed to find the tram (you can take the 1 or 17 to Surinameplein) and head towards the hotel. It was a good 5-10 min walk. We got to the hotel and we had to climb these long steps to get to the front door w/ our luggage. Very exhauting. We got to the hotel around noon so our rooms were not ready. Bummer. However, we sat by the bar and had lunch. Service and food was good and inviting. The hotel lobby was very nice. There was 2 computers you can use for free for your needs. You step outside to the garden area where you can sit and chill. You can see why they call it a Fashion Hotel. We were so tired and a bit irritated we just wanted our room. Finally, received the hotel key and the room was FABULOUS. It was WORTH the wait. The room key controlled the electricity. Very nifty. After a good long nap, we went to explore the city. The room was very comfortable w/ blackout curtains. We're glad that our hotel location was not within the busy city. We found a coffee shop, De, Prijs, across the street from our tram stop by our hotel. Good quality and service. Everything came to place. The hotel was the icing to the cake. This was the best trip ever!

“Best Deal for Money”

The hotel was extremely accommodating! The front desk allowed a tired traveler to check in early after they verified a rooms were clean! They also handled arrangements for all my touring and evening plans. Rooms were very modern and BIG, especially for european standards!!! Bathroom was quite lavish!!! Price compared to Service, DEFIANTLY worth it!

“Tram stop a short walk away”

The hotel itself is great but the nearest tram stop is a good 5 minutes away...not bad in good weather but not fun in the rain! still worth it IMO

“Excellent hotel - a bit off center”

We've stayed at the hotel on it's first month, it was excellent. It is a bit off center and from what we've gother, you better off taking a taxi or tram and not walk there at night. Highly recommended

“Great Hotel at a Great Rate”

The hotel is just on the outskirts of the city and doesn’t have much around it but downtown Amsterdam easily assessable via Tram. It's a 10-15 minute tram ride into downtown Amsterdam. The hotel rooms are extremely clean and comfortable. I stayed there over the New Years Holiday and had a great time. The staff is still getting to know the hotel and but the hotel itself more than makes up for their lack of knowledge of the hotel and area.

“Stylish hotel, nice design, will be world class when finished”

We enjoyed the hotel, despite the fact that it just opened: no room service and the penthouse bar for example w/ view of city was not open yet. Once everything works it will be a very nice hotel (and the rates will jump). The staff was professional, friendly and did their best through broken elevators, fire alarms going off, the usual new hotel trials. Highly recommended if its location suites your plans (near very convenient train station, and tram, see below).

“Stylish comfort at a great value”

Very clean, modern and stylish - and an excellent value for money. Close to the airport (~10-15 mins by train), very good connection to city center (trams). The staff were friendly and helpful. Very comfortable beds. You can rent a bike at the hotel and explore Amsterdam the Dutch way. Overall, a pleasing experience - would recommend and would return myself.
