I loved our weekend getaway and I was lucky that I got a great hotel, sight unseen. The staff was very helpful. I loved the pool and the breakfast. I even used the gym.

The room was fantastic and nicer than expected. The jacuzzi tub was fantastic. The staff at this property was so nice and helpful. I would definitely choose to stay here again.

The original owners of the hotel started J&P Cycles and brought the National Motorcycle to Anamosa. Sadly, both have now closed but it is nice to have some of that history still in the hotel. Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. Huge plus was the pool is opened until midnight. BUT staff accused us of having dogs in the room and charged me an extra $250 because they found a dog hair. When I called to ask about the extra charges I got an attitude from the lady that answered it. I explained that if she watched the cameras she would see us walking in with no dogs and leaving with no dogs her response was “I guess I’ll send it back but I don’t have time to watch the cameras I just know when I went up there the dog hair was on the other bed” she then got upset when I told her that the second bed was where we had put all of our clothes so I don’t doubt there was dog hair there. She then rushed me off the phone. VERY rude and unprofessional. I told her multiple times that I understood where she was coming from but if she looked at the camera she would see. Won’t be staying there again.

Dear Christine, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Your initial call to the hotel stated you needed a pet friendly room. At that point you booked your room online. Upon inspecting the room there were white and black dog hairs on the bed. In addition, I used a lint roller that came up with multiple pet hairs. All pet fees were reversed as I had stated I would not have time to watch the security cameras and did not want to hold money until I had time. I apologize for the misunderstanding.

Never disappointed with AmericInn
We one of a handful of guests this night. The property is off a busy highway but was very easy to access. The motel room was very quiet and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was limited due to the low occupancy, and we understand that. We have stayed at many AmericInn's over the years and have never been disappointed. If we have to stay overnight in Anamosa, Iowa again, AmericInn will be our preferred place to stay.

During very slow days we do offer breakfast sandwiches along with the waffles, cereal, oatmeal etc. If you are back in the area hopefully, we will have the biscuits and gravy as well as sausage and scrambled eggs out for you.

One night stay
Just there for one night. The heater turning on/off kept waking us up, expected the snow to be somewhat cleared when we arrived but assumed they wait for snow to stop. Breakfast the coffee was okay but the rest was not appealing. The bagels look dry and chose to skip. The room was very clean and so was the place overall. For the cost it was good, I did not need the breakfast. Just hope they can update the heaters to be quieter

Highly Recommend- Very nice!

Best place to stay!
I stayed at this hotel as I was passing through. I can’t say enough good things about it. Staff was very friendly, the common areas and the rooms were very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast the next morning was a hot breakfast with many choices, and was very good. I will be staying here again.

My son, dad and I stayed here over the weekend for a baseball tournament and couldn't have had a better experience. The hot tub was 102° the pool was 85° and both in clean, working condition. We stayed in the large family suite and it was perfect for what we needed. The bed was comfortable the pillows were comfortable, linens were clean. It’s a small hotel so not much walking to do no matter what room you’re in. Staff was super friendly and seemed like a positive bunch. Overall, really enjoyed our stay here. The only issue we had, which was out of the hotels control, was there was road construction in front of the hotel which caused a little confusion upon arrival on how to get in the hotel parking lot but thanks to GPS. We just navigated our way around it. I would highly recommend this property and when I come back to Cedar Rapids I’ll be staying here again. Cute little sleepy town can’t wait to come back.

Great place to stay
The motel was very nice and very clean. We had a bit of an issue with check in with our pet, but the ladies at the desk worked it out quickly. We would stay here again if we were in the area.
