Hostel: Downtown Anchorage
Located in Downtown Anchorage. Bus, train stations, dining, and night life are all located within 10-15 minutes walking distance. The airport is 7 miles away.
We have several common areas including dining areas, TV rooms, picnic tables, laundry facilities, ATM, brochure areas with tour info, clubhouse, and a BBQ.
We are not a hotel
We are a hostel. We don't offer room service. All private rooms and suites have queen beds, mini fridges, cable, and free WiFi. Rooms are cleaned after guests leave. Cleaning supplies are available per request.
Anchorage's largest and newest hostel. We are a hostel (not a full service hotel) that offers discounted accommodations for all tastes and budgets, from dormitories (2-share, 4-share or 6-share) to private suites (one bedroom apartments). We offer the best value for your money in a clean, safe, fun and sociable environment. We have a winter and a summer season. Summer season starts on May 15th and ends on September 15th. During the Summer season we have a 24/7 front desk/concierge. During the Winter season our office hours vary. We only accept monthly (upon approval) or weekly guests, no dailies. However, there is always someone on call if assistance is needed. Save money to go on tours, backpacking, hiking, or whatever works for you! This is the perfect place to start your Alaskan adventure. Our hostel also has a club house where travelers get to socialize and exchange adventures. We have a barbecue area with picnic tables and a fire pit for enjoying the great Alaskan summer. We have a couple of day rooms that have fully-equipped kitchens, laundry facilities (coin operated), complimentary WiFi, reading room, cold vending machines, snack vending machines, desktops with Internet access, a large TV room, dining room, bike parking, rack card displays with tours info, and free parking (which is hard to find in downtown). We have no curfew and we have free coffee in our lobby (until 12pm) area for our customers. All tourist shops, restaurants, nightclubs, tourist attractions, and museums are located steps away from our location. Nature trails, bike trails, salmon viewing areas, fishing, and sled dogs are just minutes away. Below is the definition of a hostel for those who would like to know the difference between a hotel and a hostel: Hostels provide budget-oriented, sociable accommodation where guests can rent a bed, usually a bunk bed, in a dormitory and share a bathroom, lounge and sometimes a kitchen. Rooms can be mixed or single-sex, although private rooms may also be available. Hostels are generally cheaper for both the operator and the occupants; many hostels have long-term residents whom they employ as desk clerks or housekeeping staff in exchange for free accommodation. Hostels are budget oriented. Hostels do not usually have the same level of formality as hotels. Hostels have more common areas and opportunities to socialize. Hostels are generally self catering and rooms are cleaned between guests and not daily. Hostels are generally more adventure travel oriented than leisure travel. Thus they attract an adventurous crowd.
