“Very comfortable”

Nice hotel, very comfortable rooms with plenty of space. Close to food outlets, railway station and down town shops. Alaska rail train horns could be an annoyance for some people, but there are more expensive hotels nearby that would have the same problem. We found that it really suited our needs and price range.

“Excellent Hotel - Definitely Will Go Back!”

We took the train from Seward and wanted a hotel close to the train station and that was the reason we chose this hotel. We are so glad we did!! The hotel is very nice and the rooms are actually suites, with a separate bedroom, huge living room, nice kitchenette and bathroom. It is VERY clean and quiet and we would definitely stay again.

“A little known jewel”

This is a lovely, inexpensive hotel with great rooms. The staff is very friendly and we liked the suite set-up with two TVs. The one downer is that the Alaska Railroad building is right behind the hotel so be prepared for some train noise. Walk to shops and great eateries like Orso, Simon and Seafort or the Glacier Brewhouse.

“Convenient to downtown Anchorage, great inside - close to train station (noise)”

Had a great week at the hotel, the suite style room with full kitchen (microwave, stove, refrigerator, dishes, dishwasher) was excellent for our type of trips trying to keep half of the meals done at "home". The hotel is right at the perimeter of downtown Anchorage, parking is free (at a pay parking lot but a pass is given daily for the lot by the hotel) which makes visiting downtown sites very easy, many within walking distance. The rooms were clean and furnished comfortably. One word of caution, if you are sensitive to noise this may not be the spot for you. Our room faced out directly towards the Alaska Railroad Depot and there are trains coming and going quite often, the horns were a familiar sound. It wasn't an issue in the middle of the night, but it was still noisy around 11:30pm. I don't mind train noise, but if you're wanting early nights it could be a problem. Otherwise I would fully recommend the hotel.

“Centrally Located”

This is an excellent suite, situated in a great location. Walking distance to all the main attractions in Anchorage CBD. Perfectly suited to a family of 3 with a bit more space that a regular hotel room, plus the convenience of a kitchen. Noise from the adjacent train station may cause concern for some, however you can close the windows if it bothers you that much. It only rates as a 2.5 star, but I guess this is because it doesn't have an attached restaurant, but with so many great eating places within walking distance, who cares. This place should rate at 4 star based on the quality of the suite.

“Great Location”

We arrived a day early and the receptionist was extremely helpful. Over the next couple of days I would have occassion to drop in at the counter and every employee I met was great. The location is fantastic as it is a block from the shopping area yet easy to get out of town from and miss most of the traffic. I was worried about the noise from the trains I had read about in other posts but none of us in our group (3) ever had a problem with the train and our room was facing the tracks. We kept the window closed at night which helped. I would recommend this motel to anyone that is going to be walking in the downtown area.

“will be a prefferred place to stay in the future”

Great place to stay, room was roomy and included a microwave, stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, 2 tv's, a desk, coffee table, dining table, sink, coffeemaker, you get the picture. Only objections were the slightly weird odor in the lobby, and when I checked in, my room was like 40 degrees and I had to wait a few hours for the temp to reach a comfortable level. Also the hotel is located conveniently downtown...in summer the saturday market is across the street. Bars and restaurants are walking distance. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
