“Good choice”

Comfortable room, staff very helpful and willing to make us feel comfortable. Good location. We had a rental car and it was very easy to move around.

Area recommendations
Downtown will be the best option if you don't plan to have a car.

“Wish they would do better...”

Wish the Golden Lion would do a better job with staff and communications. I got called to the front desk because my credit card was not on file, so my meal charge was due in cash. Gave them my credit card. Two days later, I get a knock on my door by the chef to "pay up" as my breakfast charges were "kicked back" from front desk re: no credit card on file. Seemed really strange to me...but it was basically due to untrained staff...and I might add...bad manners. We avoided the staff. Great location, good remodeled rooms and great showers...good restaurant if the wait staff is not running around attending to room service deliveries. This hotel has been a mainstay in Anchorage for over 30 years. Some good down home management is needed. Also, it is now a non smoking hotel, which is great!!!

“Hotel to stay in in Anchorage, Alaska”

Couldn't have asked for much more only 10 min from airport. short cab ride. Would have been nice if they had a shuttle service
